re: Enter to Win the Hotcouponworld Holiday Wishlist Contest - WINNERS Picked in post #445 (and there's more than one winner!!!)
First off I think this is so awesome!
HCW has helped my family since 4/07 in so many ways!! I am such a smarter person because of this site. I feel like the site has allowed me more control over my life by teaching me the tools to make wise decisions on things my family will always benefit from. Not only do I learn new deals everyday, I have made some amazing connections with people that far exceed coupons!
The only thing I can think of but if I think of something else, I will edit my post

Hotcouponworld has helped my family learn how to save money through couponing. We have been able to face the troubled economy and growing teenagers who eat a lot with hope that we will make it through these tough times. We also have been able to afford supplements and medicine for our children who have special needs through couponing. One supplement we need is on clearance at Walgreens. We have women all over the country from hotcouponworld checking the clearance racks at their Wags through the helping hand forum. Hotcouponworld is a wonderful, compassionate, and giving community that also has a sense of humor, as you can see from our crazy coupon you tube videos!
How easily I was able to spend $250. Actually this item costs $350 in local Target stores, but through the comparison shop feature I was able to find the Hoover All Terrain carpet cleaner for $244. This carpet cleaner is amazing. My sister in law has one and let me borrow it to help get our home ready to host Thanksgiving for our family. With 5 children, 4 pets, and what used to be very dingy carpets that were black in areas that are now white, I can easily see that we need to own one of these to keep the carpets cleaned monthly. You should have seen the loads of black dirt this got up out of my carpet! I thought my carpet was unsalvagable, but now there is hope for it. This carpet cleaner is amazing and I want one in the worst way! It cleans upholstry also!
For the backup item, are you serious that shipping is excluded? I'll assume you got a free shipping deal somehow with the link supplier. Lets break the bank with this item which costs about as much as it's shipping, a $250 trampoline for the children with an excluded shipping cost of $189!

Hot Coupon would has transformed the way my family lives! I haved learned so much from all the wonderful members here. We now have money to buy the things we want-not just the things we need. The kids love finding blinkies in stores (and the fact when friends come over they have tons to snack on!), DH loves that we now have so much food in the house we don't HAVE to shop every week (but of course I do-lol), and me-well I am laughing all the way to the bank!
I only regret that I didn't find all of you sooner! Now you guys just need to help me find a bigger house to store my stockpile in! LOL
HCW is definetly a fantastic, one of a kind, totally awesome place and I am so proud to be a member here! Thanks to everyone that makes this site possible!

re: Enter to Win the Hotcouponworld Holiday Wishlist Contest - WINNERS Picked in post #445 (and there's more than one winner!!!)
Ok I am gonna try to do this right. Sorry if I haven't a clue lol
My 3 yr old loves Thomas Train. So anything like that would rock his world!!
Amazon.com: Battery-Powered Around-The-Tree Set: Toys & Games
My 9 yr old daughter would enjoy this more than anyone could imagine.
eToys: Hannah Montana Dance Mat from Wisconsin Toy Co. (Note: went through the comparison shop but it took me to this site that I had to look for it)
My 12 yr old son is really into reading books. He wants to own his own sets. The Land of Elyon was one that actually came up. lol Amazon.com: Land of Elyon - Boxed Set (Land of Elyon): Patrick Carman: Books
My 20 month old girl is kinda hard. She sees her brother playing with trains and other boy toys, so she hasn't really gotten into much yet. But I think she will enjoy this: JCPenney : Supermarket Deluxe (For some reason this one didn't work!! I will try to fix it. So sorry)
And my husband(even though he isn't my fave person at the moment) Amazon.com: Black Fabric Office Chair w/Arms, Gas Lift & Great Student or Computer Chair: Kitchen & Dining
As long as they have something I would be happy.
HCW has meant a lot to me this past few months. I have been able to get food for us by coming here and reading. There has been a great deal of caring on here for others.
Just seen where you wanted us to post back-up items, so here are those:
My First Kitchen - activity toys - The Right Start - Babies to Kids for my 20 month old
Take Along Thomas Percy and the Carnival Set : Target For my 3 yr old
Amazon.com: Curiosity Kits Pottery Wheel: Toys & Games For my 9 yr girl
Skil 4690-01 Laser Guided Orbital Cut Scrolling Jigsaw For my husband(so he can get my new cabinets built!!)
And my 12 yr old son...he really only wants books. I don't know which ones, he isn't here. So if the books are out, then a small gift card to a book store is fine. I just couldn't find one in the comparison shop feature.
Again thank you for your all's kindness!!!

re: Enter to Win the Hotcouponworld Holiday Wishlist Contest - WINNERS Picked in post #445 (and there's more than one winner!!!)
Thank you to the fabulous ladies behind HCW for sponsoring this contest! I've always been a couponer, but through my short time here on the site, I've been able to benefit not only my own family, but others and my community as well. The advice, tips and information I've gotten on the site have enabled me to save more money and even have the added bonus of having extra things to share. For example, I have a coworker who is a struggling single mom. On many occasions, I've been able to give her toothpaste, shampoo, deodorant, etc. that I've gotten free or very cheap, and I know she genuinely appreciates it. I've also just recently been able to fill a big box with all brand new products to take to my local homeless shelter. After visiting there and talking with them about the needs they have, I'm so happy to know that I'm able to help them just by using my couponing "skills"! One of the life lessons/values I want to pass on to my young son is that we have a duty to help others throughout life. By helping me shop and seeing how we're able to get goods through couponing and then donate them to those in need, I hope he "learns by doing". So thank you to all involved with HCW who help me accomplish the goals of improving not only my family's life, but others! Blessed be!

HCW has been such a wonderful find for me. We are military stationed overseas and several of the members here have been sending expired coupons. I love that the coupon database matches up IP's also, it makes it easy if something goes on sale her that I can come and check for a quick coupon if I don't already have it.
What would I love for Christmas?

re: Enter to Win the Hotcouponworld Holiday Wishlist Contest - WINNERS Picked in post #445 (and there's more than one winner!!!)
I found this site in February, 2008. I 'discovered' CVS shopping through this site, and was simply looking to save money on diapers. In the meantime, we were also getting awesome deals on NAME BRAND :dance3: shampoos, soaps, etc. Before I found this site, we were using the el cheapo stuff, and paying MORE for the privilege of using them. $200-$300 a month at Walmart and $75-$100 a week was our "normal" grocery and household costs, for a whopping $500-$700 a month.
I ventured off of the CVS boards and managed to find enough deals to cut our household shopping budget to $250 a month- equal to our former "dining out" portion of our budget! Net savings per month- $500+
In March, there were several candy deals, and therefore we had a lot of candy in the house that I was eating. I gained a few pounds, but thought nothing of it since HCW was telling me how to get free candy, and y'all know that free stuff just tastes sooo much better!
A week before Easter, disaster struck. DH was laid off from his job. He's still searching for full time work, but he's been working two part-time jobs to make ends meet for now.
Then, the big shock- that weight gain? Yeah, not just because of CVS candy deals! I felt kicking in April, and we found out that I was pregnant with #3! After two sleepless nights thinking that we'd have to move in with one of our parents, I had an epiphany- We CAN do it on our own. I stockpiled and strategized along with the other HCW members.
When DS was born 8 weeks early, I spent a lot of time at the hospital. I didn't have to worry about shopping, since we had built a nice little stockpile, and was able to focus on my son. I would hop on to HCW and scan the deals at night, make a plan, and cherry pick the easiest deals. I didn't have to do all the research by myself! In the meantime, I was able to purchase a brand new breast pump for $2.45 (tax only!) at CVS using my ECBs.
If it wasn't for this site, DH and I would have lost our apartment. I can't even imagine how hard that would have been on our relationship- we both love our parents but that doesn't mean we want to live with them again!
And lastly, this site has made me feel more confident. I'm proud of my kids, I'm proud of my hardworking husband, but now I am proud of myself for finding the help and support to feed my family for pennies!
Whew! That was much longer than I thought it would be! Onto my wish list:
Shopping and travel with two under 2 would be much easier for us with this: Amazon.com: Eddie Bauer All-Terrain Tandem Stroller Bryant Collection: Baby (103.79)
DD will be potty training soon: Amazon.com: Baby Bjorn Potty Chair - Green: Baby (23.01) but DS#2 is still in diapers and we've pretty much destroyed the old diaper pail: Safety 1st Easy Saver Diaper Pail - Safety 1st - Babies "R" Us (16.99)
And one thing that I really, really wish we had: A baby monitor. This one looks cute (but I have no idea what types are out there!): Baby Safety & Care,Baby Monitors,Audio Baby Monitors,Fisher-Price,Fisher-Price Sounds 'n Lights Dual Receiver Monitor - BabyAge.com (33.88)
DS#1 is six, loves to read, and loves "Are you smarter than a 5th grader": BookCloseouts.com - The Bestseller in Bargain Books (7.99) and 9780061243585: The Dangerous Book for Boys by Conn Iggulden, Hal Iggulden (Used, New, Out-of-Print) - Alibris (13.50)
DH is still looking for work, so he would like to read a couple books too: Inspirational - 48 Days to the Work You Love Dan Miller / 2007 / 224 pages (11.99) and 9780618276790: Guerrilla Marketing for Free: 100 No-Cost Tactics to Promote Your Business and Energize Your Profits by Jay Conrad Levinson (Used, New, Out-of-Print) - Alibris (8.15)
Thank you for all that you do for all of us. Thank you to every member of this forum for sharing your deals, your finds, and your knowledge! And lastly- thank you for this contest- now I have found another tool here (I never really used the comparison shop tool before!).
