Love the Database, Thanks
:hi2:From Idaho.
I absoloutely love the databse! The idea behind it is awesome, I also think there are numberous places HCW could go with it aswell! I think ya'll cut a fat hog in the bumbum with this one !
However It is seriously slow to load for me, no matter what PC or browswer Im using. Which can be frustrating of course...so I findI generally use pm's to trade and I prefer the old lists in the forums to the Database for the most part...but Rome wasnt built in a day LOL Greatness can take time ! I am a patient person!
Thanks for the awesome site guys !!
I'm a newbie in couponing, maybe 3 months or so and also new to the site. I am able to see wishlists ppl have made and I'm willing to trade if someone can explain to me how it all works...and how come some of you have 20+ of the same coupons....do you buy multiple papers or.....? Thanks!

My WishesYour Wishes?
My understanding is that with the new database, the ability to create your old type wish list will go away sometime in the near future.
I probably spend more time with the new database than most folks, but I don't know of another way to keep track of what I have. So here are the steps I take:
1. I go through each of my inserts and either select each Q from the database or add them to it. I put all of my Q's in my "Keep" list at first, with the number of each that I have.
2. Once all my weekly Q's have been added to my "Keep" list, I go through it and copy it line by line to an Excel spreadsheet on my computer. On my spreadsheet, I have a place to mark each Q for trading or keeping. Additionally I can sort it alphabetically by product name.
3. After I print my own personal list, I go back into my "keep" list on the database and move the items I wish to offer for trades.
4. I then file the week's printout and all the inserts in a folder for the week.
Does someone else know of an easier way to keep track of each thing?

I only put what I want to trade on the db. If I need something to fill in for a trade I may go to my folder that I take to the store. But otherwise that is sacred, for me to shop with. I do go thru and do the wishlist. When I finalize a trade, I will then (as I fill the envie) go thru the have list and remove the ones I am trading. I love the db, but I like the PM better than sending message on the db because PM will notify that you have a message.

My have list & wish list
Newbie here, not understanding how to save them onto a list, when I click on the database I briefly see wish lists and such but then they disapear. Can you print coupons from this site also if they dont have the website link.
Joanne
When you click on the coupon database, it will initially bring up five tabs: "Search", "Have List", "Keep List", "Wish List" and "Trades (Actual and Potential)".
If you are looking for a specific Q, use the Search List by typing in at least part of the name of the product. For example, the word "L'Oreal" will bring up a list of all L'Oreal products and where each Q was found, as well as other details about each Q. However, if you had typed the words "L'Oreal Haircolor" your results would have been much more specific, because only haircolor products from L'Oreal would be shown.
You can only print those coupons that have a link to the website where the Q may be found.
When you bring up an item from the search list, you have several choices as to what to do with it:
1. If you are going through your newspaper inserts, you might choose to add each of the Q's found in your inserts to your "Keep List" to build a list of what Q's you actually have.
2. If you have Q's you wish to offer as trade items, you might bring up a Q and save it to your "Have List".
3. If you find Q's listed that you don't have, but would like to get, you can save them to your "Wish List".
4. Once you build your own personal "Have List" and "Wish List" you can see them all at the "Trades (Actual and Potential)" tab.
5. From the "Trades (Actual and Potential)" tab, you can see who has the Q's you want. You can also look to see what you have that is on their wish list and try to initiate a trade.
The new database is far more specific than the old lists we used to type. There are other things you can do with the new db, but the best way to learn it is to start using it. It gets easier with practice.
Hope this helps you. :smile77:

you actually need to be a member of the trader or trader in training user groups in order to use the trading features of the database...more info here: Join the Coupon Trader Group
So you won't have the options for keeping a have/wish/keep list(s) unless you are a trader/TNT
Also we have no plans of ever making it a requirement to use the database for your lists. This is just an option. You can use it or not...up to you.
Progress has been slow on making some much wanted changes to the DB as we lost our developer when he took a new full time job. However we are in the process of hiring a new developer and hope to begin work this summer on version 3.0!
