That being said... if you find a member that's signature is getting out of hand size wise please PM me and LMK.
This applies to mods as well....if you think someones signature is really out there LMK and I will ask them to knock it down a bit. We have spoken to mods about signature sizes before.

BUT I will say that part of the benifits of being a mod is a larger signature size limit.

Mods are not paid...so we try to give them some perks above the other members for thier time and efforts that they do to help HCW and keep it running smoothly. So if you want a bigger signature...consider applying to be a mod!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the mod's having a larger siggy, they have other things they have to put in their posts regarding their forum, rules and other info, plus, they should have the same lines available for their own personal use as everyone else. That said, if a mod was using all their lines for their hl and wl, tons of huge smilies and the like, it get's a little unfair.

I am one of the members that uses dial-up. It can take a LONG time for pages to load, but it'll take longer to open up yet another page to get to the profile and then the hl/wl, so I choose not to disable the siggys.

Looking at some of the siggys, Bugface's (gonna use you as an example, since you've posted here...) siggy is well proportioned, and contains mostly text, thus not taking any more time to load. For me, it's the smilies that take the long time. I'm very appreciative that the members are limited to a certain size, and number of smilies.

Quite honestly, one of the icons that really slows things down is the "hcw approved" thingie. It is the last thing that pops up when my page finally loads... Is there any possible way to make that thing smaller??? :shrug7:

This is just my 3 pennies.

(Thanks Kristen, I really appreciate, as a dial-upper, that your siggy doesn't "take advantage" of the greater mod limits in such a way that it makes it difficult to get things done in a timely fashion.)

BTW, I pointed out Kristen because of the general size of her siggy. The other admin/mod siggys in this thread are relatively small in size and can't be used as an example for my purpose.

Thank you. Currently, I'm not doing much trading, as my mental health has decompensated again, and I'm not doing too well. Thanks for understanding.

Just a reminder that when you're changing out your signature, sometimes it's best to just erase everything and start from scratch.

When you make a simple change like for a font size or a color, it often will keep the previous color information as well so you might have something that looks like this, and it uses up valuable space in your character limit.

     your text

when this is all you really need (in this instance) your text

When people's smilies and pictures and things aren't hosted here on the site, they take longer because our server has to make a request to their server, and if their server is slow, it slows the whole process down. So all the photobucket images and things.....we're waiting on photobucket to send over the image.

You are so right. I think it is very fair for Mods to have this little perk. Mods spend alot of time making sure things are running properly on here and I appreciate all the hard work and dedication to the members and HCW. I LOL when you said for someone to consider being a Mod...now that's a good idea for a comeback.
