I live in Maine and I have learned that holding on to 'hot' or free coupons, instead of going right out and using them, can actually save you more money! EX: Wait til the free product is B1G1 and get 2 free, instead of using it right then and only getting one free.

I'm in MA and I have learned that you can piggyback coupons for major savings. Like if I have a coupon for Free Wholly Guacamole and a coupon for $2 off hot dogs when I buy Wholly Guacamole, I can use them together. Never knew to do that before I came here!!

I am from CT and love shopping at Shaw's now that I am saving at least 50% every week on groceries. I didn't even go to the store this week because I have so much food now!!! I am also trying to get my friend to join who is a fellow Shaw's shopper and is spending $250 a week on groceries. She is amazed that I spend only $30-$60 a week and get so much stuff!! Thanks Heather for all your hard work!!

Hi Heather,

I'm from MA and am a Shaw's shopper and poster in the Shaw's thread. One very useful thing I've learned from HCW is that many stores will cheerfully accept recently expired coupons.Just that one little nugget of info has saved me a bundle of bucks !

Hi, Heather. I'm shopping Shaws here in Connecticut, and doing SO much better there since I found HCW. Thanks for an awesome site.

I've followed many threads over the last few months and taken advantage of all the different entertainment promos that have been going on. Besides my "Momma Mia" tickets (Ponds at Walgreens) and my "Indiana Jones" tickets (Dr. Pepper at KMart), we're seeing plenty of other movies this summer, courtesy of Kraft, General Mills, and Hersey's (all with qualifying purchases at Shaws). We're even going to Mystic Aquarium this summer, thanks to the Shaw's Summer Destination Offer.
Seriously, before HCW, I never would have caught on to the number of freebies I could get for attractions and movies. AT THE GROCERY STORE! HOW COOL IS THAT? And I have all the food from the qualifying purchases at a great price, too.

Hi Heather,
I am in NH and I pretty much only shop at Shaw's. Two weeks ago I saved over $275 in one trip. I had the 2 ladys behind me going crazy. They were telling everyone and the cashier and the bagger were so excited too.

I don't have that happen often.

I don't know what I would do without hot coupon world. I have learned so much and tell others about it often. I guess the thing that helps me the most is the coupon data base. I don't cut all my coupons I keep them together in the inserts and when there are sales I go to the books and cut them out. I only cut them out if it is a coupon I KNOW I will use. So the long and the short of it would be that HCW saves me a TON of time cutting out things I wouldn't need to cut out. My hands thank you! lol

I'm in ME (doesn't that sound funny if you don't capitalize properly).

I've learned that combining coupons and promotions is the best type of savings.
Example: last week cheerios were 5/$10. Duckling club had buy 5 get one free, and the Batman buy 10 get two tickets, plus coupons for cheerios. So we bought ten, got tickets, two free box coupons in mail for about ten bucks.

Hi Heather!

I am from NH and prior to HCW very rarely shopped at Shaw's because I thought it was too expensive.

There are a lot of things that I have learned about saving big bucks from HCW but a lot have been stated. One thing I have learned is to be more assertive and stand up for myself in the consumer position. Three months ago if the shelf was bare of a product on sale, I wouldn't have even thought to ask for a raincheck. And if a Catalina hadn't printed, I would have just walked away. I KNOW! Now, I think CS knows my by sight I have been there so many times....and saved SO MUCH just by following through on things...what a concept.
