QUESTION Aldi Bunkbeds

Hello all,
Did anyone buy the bunkbeds last week? I did, but I can't figure out which size/type of mattress to put in there without putting it together.
If its going to be an expensive endeavor, I might just return them and buy a used bunkbed with mattresses included..

Thanks!

I pulled up a picture online to see what you were talking about and there were similar to beds I have.
My kids bunk beds just have regular mattresses on them with a small 2 inch thick box spring....there are some mattresses called "bunkies" that eliminate the use of of a box spring, but the ones that I have used in the past don't last very long...well at least with my boys. I couldn't really tell a difference between a "bunkie" and a regular CHEAP mattress.

Good luck on whatever you choose to do. :) Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

From what I can tell the dimensions on the box say 37.5-38.5. While online twins are stated to be 39. So I can tell if I need to be looking for something smaller..

I saw a bunkie board and also bunkie mattresses with board inside. Which one did you say didn't work out for you?

My brother had a bunkbed when he was little. The mattress with the board inside wasn't a very good one. It didn't last very long. I would think the board seperate and then a regular mattress would last longer because you could get a better quality mattress probably cheaper.

I was looking at them and saw in an ad that they are twin beds. Hope this helps!

I also wanted to add that there was a specific bunkbed website that had 38" wide mattresses, cheapest was 150 and then the seperate board was 50, if that helps on pricing for you.

The bunkie mattresses with the board inside were crap. The bunkie board that and regular mattress that's on their beds now are almost 10 years old, and still in decent shape. The mattresses with the board inside, didn't last a year.
One thing to make sure of when getting the mattresses if you decide to go that way is to make sure the top mattress isn't too thick so that the safety rails will do their job.

I'm not real sure about the measurements though...We have had several sets of bunkbeds and they would all accept a regular twin mattress.
