QUESTION Is it cheaper at Aldi's?

I never see q's for apple sauce and Pancake mix. I never buy the stuff either unless my wisdom teeth act up then its all i can eat (ice cream too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

So, Do you notice that on those items Aldi is cheaper then your normal store? I am thinking i should start getting items i can't get w/ q's at aldi's..... Like ^ that stuff

I say yes. I have found that, on average, if it is something I cannot get with a coupon it is a better value at Aldi's. I cannot say for sure on the applesauce or pancake mix (prices do vary depending on where you live), but the staples I buy at Aldi's are just as good in quality and price than if I got them at say Wallyworld or my local grocer.

You should definitely stop by and do some price checking!

HTH!

I'd say most grocery items are cheaper at Aldi's. if one is not brand loyal and wouldn't mind unknown brands of foodstuff, its worth trying them.

I like to ad match the prices of produce at Aldi's. this week in our local Aldi's ads, they have cantaloupe for .99 a piece, red and green grapes @ .99/lb. SWM ad matches their sales ad so I don't have to go there to buy produce.

manders13 I have bought the applesauce at Aldi's once. I thought it was more diluted than the national or Kroger store brands and I wouldn't buy it again. This might not bother other people, but it did me. hth.

Remember, Aldi has DOUBLE your money back if you are not satisfied with their product for any reason.

I buy their applesauce all the time and am very happy with it. Last time I bought it was $0.89 for 25 oz. jar.

I bought Valu Time Pancake Mix at Giant Eagle today for $1.39. Does anyone know if that's more than what you would pay at Aldi?

In my area, the pancake mix used to be .99 at Aldi's, but I think it went up to $1.19 now. I also buy the applesauce for .89 and my kids love it. I don't really eat it, so I can't say whether it is as thick as brand names or more diluted.

For the most part Aldi's is cheaper than the store brand for most items and even some items with coupons, however some dairy and meats are more expensive.

I did a price book (read the Tightwad Gazette)and calculate price per pound against, Kroger, Walmart and Aldi's. And I now I regularly buy the following at Aldi's.

Oatmeal, Flour Tortillas, Yogurt 8oz, Pepperoni, Flour, Sugar, Parmesan, Rice, Pinto Beans, Vanilla, Tortilla Chips, Pepper, Raisins, Frozen Orange Juice concentrate, and most definitely Bananas!

Default Re: Is it cheaper at Aldi's?

I buy pancake mix at Aldi's. I used to buy the Kroger brand when they'd have it on their 10/$10 sales, but that's become a thing of the past. The pancake mix at Aldi's is good, and it cost $1.19 two weeks ago.

I also buy produce there, because (unless Kroger or Meijer is having a great sale) it's cheaper there. We usually go through a 10 lb bag of potatoes each week. Kroger and Meijer have not had them on sale in months! The last time I checked, they cost $5.99 at Kroger. They're $3.59 at Aldi this week. Bags of baby carrots were only .49 this week!!! Since you live fairly close to me, I'm sure you understand that I very rarely see a produce WT...so I have to shop for produce where I get the best deal.

Also this week, I got:
5 lbs of sugar $1.91
48 oz canola oil $2.79
8 oz minced garlic $1.19
Eggs $1.19/doz
