FYI Never shopped Aldi!?

For everyone that has not shopped at Aldi.
1)Shopping carts are connected together outside which you put a quarter into slot to release chain to get cart. But you get your quarter back after you reattach after finish shopping.
2)Bags cost extra but you can us recycle plastic, paper, or green bags or boxes.
3)DO NOT expect fancy shelving or little groupings. Remember this is a save money store. Most of time they stack boxes atop each other & cut out front.
4)Can not use coupons or write checks. But you can use debit cards and cash.
5)They have mostly store brands but most of them are really good.
6)They usually have a long line because they usually have 1 cashier but they do not bag your groceries, they simply scan & put into another cart.
Aldi is not for everyone but the majority of shoppers don't mind the little things considering they can save some major money. I have a trip planned Tuesday on my day off to stock up my cabinets(stimulus check).

I have never been in Aldi's until last week, when I went to pick up a pool that was in their add. I then went back the next day to get some stuff. My sister goes there all the time and she told me a few things to try. The cheese club mac and cheese is better than Kraft and only 33 cents a box. I will be going back to try more stuff.

I was a little confused about the cart thing but the person before me left a quarter in the cart so I just did the same thing when I left. Now I know how it works.

I just tried Aldi's and it is a very interesting store. I do mostly organics, but I do buy their frozen fruits for my protein drinks and their cheese is really cheap.

I'm moving to Florence, SC in August, and there's an Aldi store there. My cousin shops at Aldi all the time, and she raves about the prices. Of course, I'm just starting to learn how to use coupons at Kroger ... and Florence doesn't have Kroger, nor does Aldi use coupons. Now I'll have to learn how to shop (and coupon) at other area grocery store -- it's all about saving $$!

I've only gone in their store a couple of times for something specific that I saw in their advertisement. Does anyone know if they stock baking supplies regularly, such as flour, sugars, etc.? What kept me from returning is that I'm told their inventory is very erratic/irregular. If I am driving there, I want to know they will have the basics I'm looking for.

Oh yes, I've always seen a full stock of all baking supplies - flour, sugars, cake and brownie mixes, spices, oils, etc.

and eggs of course. They also have all the canned pie fillings, marashino cherries, whipped cream. Now if they just stocked ALLI for weight loss I'd be good after all the whipped cream!

I used to show here all the time in college in Cincinnati, OH.

I have been in the one in Florence, SC.

They do stock the basics all the time, but watch out for "spices". Cinnamon, yes, but others necessary for scratch baking, not usually, not in Florence anyway. They will no doubt have canned stewed tomatos for salsa, but not the cumin. Jared Jalapenos, maybe.

But I really like the place. You can do 85% of your shopping there, and the savings is good for not spending any time coupon gathering.

We just got a new Aldi a few months ago and I love it. Great prices on milk, bread and fruit.
