I've told all my coworkers about milk @ Aldi's because it's so much cheaper. Definitely worth getting there--but I'm another one who had no idea milk would freeze. I'm going to give it a try.

I usually don't buy milk at Aldi because they only have gallons, not half gallons, and I cant drink a whole gallon before it goes bad (I've tried to freeze it but don't like the taste after its defrosted). But the other day my Aldi had half gallons of 2% organic milk for $1.99 so I gave it a try and it's good! I'd not tried organic milk before. Also eggs were just $1.19, the lowest I've seen them anywhere.

I have started shopping at Aldi's recently. Their produce is better than the surrounding grocery stores and it is much cheaper. I did buy some yogurt smoothies and some kids yogurt my last trip and the next day I realized that they were both outdated!! By at least 2 weeks!! I will be paying closer attention in the store from now on.

You should have taken it back. Aldis would have refunded you on them.

I have had that happen even at "regular" grocery stores. I once bought outdated sourcream that was 5 days outdated. I had bought it to make something at work for my boss so I was pretty upset to see it was outdated when I had planned to use it asap. I returned it and they returned my money for it. I though they should have given me something for my time and trouble. I learned to always check everything after that.

I went searching for my Aldi receipt so I can share some info on cheese and such, as was asked earlier on.

Ground Turkey - 2.49
Lite Yogurt .43 each (Cherries Jubilee is my FAVORITE! Better than Dannon IMO)
Large Eggs - 1.25
Deli Slices Munster Cheese - 2.09 (special cheese, not just regular plastic wrapped slices)
Soy milk - 1.39 quart
Cream Cheese - 99 cents
Whole Chicken - 3.78
2% Milk - 3.59
1 lb. sliced turkey lunchmeat - 3.49
Romaine Hearts - 1.99

I love Aldi. I have only gotten two things EVER from there I did not like the taste of - frozen breaded mushrooms, and something else.

I PREFER their off brand mini-wheats, yogurts, and canned soup.

OH! And def. go there for Extra Virgin Olive Oil! They sell a huge bottle for 4.50 or so.

i love aldis but none near me. so when i go on a trip,i stop for canned veggies(30c) cheese to freeze, taco shells, frozen shrimp and anything to fill in that would take a lot of coupons time or gas to stock up on.when i shop there we fill my van to bust and it lasts up to 3 months. my mom loves their canned asparagus (99c). i dont mind spending the 2-300 dollars on a trip because i get everything i need to make full meals. the prices on everyday staples cant be beat!

Milk freezes beautifully. When we are about half way through a gallon I bring a frozen gallon up from the basement and put it in the fridge. Takes about a day to thaw.

I love Aldi's for their veggies and fresh fruit, cheese, bagged lettuce, baking goods and snacks. Everything I have tried has been great.

Sadly, I was there yesterday and their milk was up to $3.79 or so. A little bit cheaper than Harris Teeter or Lowes, but I can get it for free at Lowes with my green points.

I got a gallon of 2% milk at Aldi last night for $2.83. It's a dollar more at any of the grocery stores here. Also got bagged salad for 99 cents. I would have bought a lot more but my store was completely out of carts! There are usually like 50 of them outside. Guess it was just an unusually busy day there.
