Canned Pumpkin 2009

There's an ADI near my in-laws who are coming down this weekend. I'd like them to bring some canned pumpkin. Has anyone noticed if it's come in yet for the season? TIA!

none of my aldi's have it yet...i'm not really holding my breath with the shortage this year.

Yeah...I guess there was a shortage of pumpkins last year...so this year we are feeling that hit with a shortage of canned pupmkin. I still have a few cans from last years baking season as well

Wow I didnt know there was a shortage. Last year I stock piled 10 cans. They were .10 each.

I bought some there Wednesday.

I got some yesterday for 79 cents per can.

I bought some yesterday at Walmart $1.37 for the small can.

I noticed it in my aldi's (NC Piedmont) a couple days ago, didn't notice the price through. I actually stopped in this forum to see if anyone had the price. Is it generally better than walmart?

As to the shortage of pumpkins...new england had some huge rains this spring. When we went to Maine in early july, there was standing water in my parents yard. That never happens. I think June had 20 of the last 24 days rained. Anyway, there was an article online about it awhile ago. It really hurt the pumpkin crop. Most places won't have pumpkins ready for the season this year.
