I know, it’s that much at my Wal-Mart also. I only discovered the price at Aldi today. I love honey in my yogurt, my herbal tea, warm milk, and to glaze carrots but I’ve been using it sparingly because of the price; but not anymore.

I really enjoy shopping at Aldi! They often have eggs one day a week for $0.49 for a dozen. Couldn't beat that if I had chickens! Their gallons of milk are the cheapest in our area and tastes good. We like the knockoff sun chips and recently tried the knock off funyuns. The funyuns are especially yummy. Produce couldn't be cheaper but you do have to watch because they don't refrigerate it once it's put out and sometimes it's been picked over and isn't fresh. The romaine lettuce is refrigerated and is way cheaper. We like almost all their potato chips including the knock off crispy cheese chips like cheetos.

Last year they had fresh blueberries for $0.99/pint. This was a special shipment, so I purchased some for both my mother and me to put in the freezer. Elsewhere the same size was $2.99 and higher at the same time. Always be on the lookout for specials like that. It's a nice savings treat.

Also, our Aldi sells fresh cut flowers cheaper than anywhere else in the area. I like to pick up a fresh bouquet for a gift, trim them up and put them in a recycled glass jar, tie a ribbon around the top, and you have either a nice present to give or a nice present just for you to enjoy.

I couldn't live without their frozen extra fine green beans. $1.49 and worth every penny.
I also prefer Fit & Trim whole wheat thin spaghetti, cinnamon french toast sticks, 5 cheese garlic bread and Fit & Trim chicken broth.
They usually have good prices on milk, olive oil, garlic and fresh produce. Alot of the times, the quality on their produce is much better than the grocery stores.

Prices vary at my store quite a bit. But the best buys that I have gotten are:

    avocados .39
eggs .49 (but haven't seen that for awhile, last time they were .99)
    pineapples .99
    jalapeno peppers .39 lb
    oranges $1.35 for 4 lbs
    apples $1.50 for 3 lbs
    celery $1.29
    mushrooms .59 for 8 oz.
onions and potatoes are often really cheap too.

And their refridgerated pizzas are excellent. A very large take and bake cheese pizza for $5.99.

Oh and the fresh flowers are $3.99. Sometimes they don't look too good, but when they do I get some. Their roses last well over a week. They are much higher quality roses than regular grocery stores and they come with greenery and usually an extra flower or 2.

I love Aldi! I never know what to expect price wise. I just buy what is priced right on that day.

I was so excited to see they came out with their own version of Baked Lays. $1.99 a bag, which is as cheap as I've ever been able to get the real thing with coupons (and those were homemailers, and I only had 4). I get 3 or 4 whenever I go because it's way out of my way.

I really wish they sold 1% milk, because we can't stand skim and 2% is too rich. oh well.

(random gripe: why is this forum called "Aldi's"? it makes me think of the hillbillies around here who say "Walmarts" or "Bilos".)

also, I used to love their brown sugar and cinnamon Pop-Tart knockoffs, and they were a great price (something like $1.69 for a 12-pack), but now I'm burned out on toaster pastries from a huge deal last year. I may never eat another one again, which is just as well.

I also stock up on frozen ground turkey every time I go. $1.39 a roll and we use it in everything that calls for beef.

I swing by every now and then to check out the produce. Today I stocked up with:

    Bananas .39/lb
    Strawberries .99/lb
    Whole Pineapples .99 each
