I am SO ENVIOUS of all of you who have access to Aldi's!!! We moved 3 years ago from Indiana to North Texas. I was a faithful Aldi shopper in Indiana----but there isn't one around in North Texas....yet. We're scheduled to get TWO STORES and a distribution center in my city in 2009. I can hardly wait! To answer your question---is it worth it and does their products taste good----YES! YES! YES! In fact, I have yet to find a brand of string cheese that my family will eat. None compare to Aldi's. It's the absolute best! I could fill a shopping cart for about $75 and have my 2 weeks worth of groceries for a family of 5 (no coupons). My advice is to give Aldi's a try.

Aldi always has the best prices on milk, their banana prices can't be beat and they have GREAT fudge bars and ice cream novelties.

Beware of their clumping cat litter, cheap but too cheap in my opinion.

Flowers are also a great deal!

NW Arkansas area Aldi here... our store does not take cc at all but will take debit cards. My DH is kind of a health nut, eats healthy and he loves the Aldi Fit and Active brand foods. We buy the bulk of our groceries here.

I pretty much buy all of my pantry items there. Canned, juices, etc. Salad mixes, cottage cheese, milk and all that stuff too. The produce I have to be careful with because it seems to go bad very quickly, within a day or so. I now use those green bags and the produce stays nice for a week or more. The only thing I don't like from Aldi is the frozen ground turkey. The taste, to me, is awful.\
Price wise, for me, it depends on if I can find a great sale on the things I need that week on sale at the stores that do take coupons. Here lately, it has just been easier to stop there.

Bring a quarter if you're going to need a buggy!

No worries~you'll get your quarter back when you return your buggy.

I know you didn't ask that question, but that's the one thing that sticks in my mind about Aldi's.

Hi neighbor

is that the one in Ft Smith? I tried to use Discover there and although cashier would take it, he told me there is a surcharge for CCs, so I paid with cash instead.

The milk alone is worth it to me! I've bought a couple of cans of stuff from them which are a little cheaper than what I normally pay and they are fine.

The frozen ground turkey is my favorite thing at Aldi!! Great prices on milk, cereal, chips, bread, frozen fish, canned goods, etc. The only things I don't buy there is fresh meat and produce. I just don't think the quality is as good, I'd rather pay a little more at another store.

I too don't mind the frozen ground turkey from Aldi. I never noticed a difference than the stuff I buy from Kroger.
