but if you choose to use coupons like $5 or your $10 cat jj

it has to be $30 or $35......

hummm, my ad says nothing about not being able to use coupons. It states: Save $10* when you spend $25 or more on these participating products in a single transaction using your Albertsons Preferred Savings Card between 10/14/09 and 10/20/09. * Coupon will print at register. The of course it lists what is on sale w/ some item pictures. The whole thing doesn't say 1 word about not being able to use coupons on the $25 initially spent.

Not sure this will help, but wanted to put my 2cents in. :)

I'm still not sure how to interpret this. Excludes means it's not a part of, so I spend $25, ok minimum handled, now I give you my coupons.

I think it could be interpreted either way.

The "Minimum purchase requirement excludes manufacturer and store coupons" is definitely up for interpretation and is going to be one of those YMMV deals. They have used this wording a few times in the past couple months worth of ads and so far the deals have still worked as long as you met the minimum purchase requirement, $25 in this case. The "play on words" will come in to play if/when your planned out purchase does not yield the expected $10 OYNO catalina (ex. certain qualifiers not being programmed in correctly for the deal). If you think about it, whenever a store has a promo and the "expected" catalina does not print, they always have one reason or another to blame it on YOUR USE of coupons.

FWIW, I interpret this deal to mean that it is a $25 minimum purchase, excluding coupons, to be before coupons and store coupons. After all, if they are getting reimbursed by the manufacturer's for each coupon + 8¢, wouldn't that be considered part of your "method of payment."? KWIM?
