Albies clerk didn't scan all my Q's.

Okay, so I'm still learning here but I just lost about $5 in q last week whne the albies clerk did not scan all of my Q's.

It was the Friday before Christmas (busiest shopping day of the year) and she was sorting my Q's and asking me about some of them. Then she was asking me about recipes. I felt rushed already as she was a bit chatty and we had a line behind us.

Well, I get out to the car with my waiting DH and 4 kiddos under 8 and finally look at my receipt. After looking at the coupon savings section I realized she must has missed about 5 $1 Q's.

What do you all do to prevent this? Man, you work so hard to get these things then match them up with the sale and then some dingbat can't remember to scan them all! Argh!

    Thanks for letting me vent!

I try to count the beeps as they scan them (I know it's hard with kids). If I know it only beeped 8 times, and I had more Q's I say something, then they look over them again.

I try to remember to count how many I'm using. Before I leave the store I stop and count how many were rung up. If I counted 28 and there's only 25 on there, I'll go to either customer service, or grab one of the front end managers. My stores know me (small-ish town), so I'm recognized on sight for the most part.

If I've forgotten to count or have already left the store and have gotten home, then I generally write it off. If it's not the same day, it might be difficult to track it back for the store.

I also try to watch like a hawk as they're doing it, but can't always. If you have a "ton" of them, maybe handing them over in small increments might help you, like 5 at a time or so. If they don't have a cow about it.

....I have learned to hand them over One By One.

They hate it, but it is just something I have learned I Had to do or deal with not getting them all scanned. (or self-check out if possible)

I hand them over in small batches of like coupons. So if I have say four cat food coupons I give those together, then the 6 tomato sauce coupons, then the 10 pasta coupons, etc, etc...
You can give a horse a coupon, but you can't make it save.
