Double Coupons this week. Here is the (confusing) verbiage in the ad and translation afterwards from my manager:

Big print says "Double Coupons 50c value on card purchases. Mfg. Coupons up to & Including...." Small print says" Albertsons will triple manufacturer coupons only. In-store coupons are always taken at face-value. A limit of three of the same coupons for the like items will be tripled. Any additional coupons for the same items will be redeemed at face value. Coupons that state "do not double" are accepted at face value only. Offer valid through 5/27/08."

Here is the translation from the manager with whom I spoke on 5/20:

disregard "triples" and yes, coupons will be doubled for the week but NO overage. If an item is .99 and you have a .50 coupon, you will only get .99 off. No card required; that was an error, too. Retraction will be posted at doors (or that's what she said would happen here).

Noteworthy:

10% discount to all military personnel May 21 through May 27, 2008. ID required. Active, Reserve or Retired. (list of exclusions--rx, alcohol, tobacco, gift cards, m/o's, lottery tickets, fuel...).

1.99 each wyb 5-12 pcks of pepsi or Coke and 2-Lay's Chips in one transaction. Limit one reward per transaction.

I am equally confused. I wonder if they copied an ad from a different region but forgot to omit this part. "On card purchases" has to mean a club card which we haven't had in over a year.

Also, is the "Buy $20 get $5 off instantly" Kraft promotion mix and match? I'd like to get some cheese as well as some things off the back of the ad.

I will update OP as I called my store last night and got some answers. What a mess!

I just talked to a manager who seemed to be well-informed. Turns out that they are doubling coupons, up to $.50, but only 3 like coupons are allowed. So if you have a $.50 coupon it's doubled to $1 but anything over $.50 is accepted only for face value. There was a mistake in the ad as there is no tripling of coupons. This is only going on for this week.

The bagel-fuls aren't programmed at a DenCo location as of this morning, but they had no problem taking off the $5 (total was $20 before Qs). They even wrote it down and said they'd fix it (that doesn't happen at Safeway LOL).

That is not how the deal worked today for me at the store. $.50 coupons doubled up to $1. $.55 coupons doubled up to $1 as well (so only $.45 in the double on this one). Does that make sense? So it seems that all coupons under $1 will double up to $1 for this deal. LMK if this is how it is working for everyone else.

Not part of the double coupon deals, but Huggies cleanteam hand/face wipes are on sale BOGO $1.29. I bought 8 and used the $1 Huggies cleanteam coupons from inserts.

I was only able to use 5 $1 coupons and then they started to beep, but 8 free cleanteam hand/face wipes is great. If the cashier hadn't noticed the BOGO she was about to override the last 3 $1 and I would have gotten about $3 in overage.

Good deal, although I already have about 40 of these I got free on a $10/10 sale.

Thanks for the heads up on that one. I tried this today with the .55/2 tic tac coupons. Tic Tacs are on sale 2/$1 so they are free since it did double up to $1.00.
