I don't understand all this talk. Either they get $6.39 cash from one of us or they get some cash and some Q's. Either way, they will get $6.39 in the end. They aren't getting anything extra back by taking the Q's and even have to wait for the Q money. The extra 8c per Q they get just covers the extra time it takes to process them.

    Am I wrong?

It's clearly against Albertsons coupon policy to deny the use of a manufacturer's coupon along with the ad coupon on the Ragu. The $1/2 that most of us are using will not make the item free or a moneymaker, either, so they can't use that excuse.
As to using coupons on the free pie and the 2 free Breyers, I can see where that would be a YMMV, just like it is when some of us try to use a cents-off coupon on one item, and a b1g1f coupon on a 2nd item.

I think the new policy you're talking about may be because of an increase of photocopied coupons. I had this happen at Albies way back this summer during all the Klondike/Haagen Dazs ice cream deals. At first the cashier told me they'd only take IPs that were in color. I went to CS to get the money for them, and the person there called over a mgr before she'd take my IPs. Turns out that the word to the cashiers was to make sure there is that tiny border around the coupon, because it contains a unique ID number (as does the front of the coupon) and a time stamp from when it was printed. The only major coupon printing software that I can think of that doesn't do this is e-centives, which is the software sponsoring the Ragu/Breyers, etc.

So, to be safe, we'd better leave that little border on our IPs, and hope for the best with the others.

I think we can't stress enough here how important it is to NOT copy coupons. It is so so so so so wrong. I would hate to think that our couponing could be ruined by one or a few people.

I have mentioned here before about taking peelies and was promptly told that there is nothing wrong with taking peelies from one store to use at another. Well there is a Glade promo going on and I have been shocked to hear how many people are taking the coupons in the LID even from the store that has the deal going???? Can't we just all agree to some skeleton of a couponers code of ethics?

Honestly, I just have to say that this has been repeated so often lately that it's starting to sound accusatory. (Not from your post alone, Melaniee, don't take me wrong)

I'm sorry if I sound accusatory - I honestly don't mean to. It seems to me like lately there has been a more tense relationship between stores and shoppers. Unfortunately, there are multiple things happening at the same time, and they're having a cumulative effect:
-retailers (like pretty much every other business) are worried about their bottom line. When times are tough, increased asset protection is one way stores try to take care of themselves. Thus, they're more vigilant.
-the bad economy is getting more people into couponing than ever before
-some people are honestly ignorant about printing vs. copying (I see it all the time on other boards related to shopping and deals, too)
-some other people know full well, but are using the bad economy to take advantage of people by selling and/or using counterfeit or copied coupons
-in good times or bad, there are always those store mgrs & cashiers who just don't 'get it' about couponing, and misinterpret or make up their own rules

Frankly, I've been very pleasantly surprised at all of the great promos and rebates in the last several months. I was sure that the economy was going to cause everything to dry up, making tight times even worse. We may all have to turn on our charm (even more than we already do ), and keep showing the stores that we appreciate the deals. Obviously, we don't want them to lose money because they'll stop the promos. On the other hand, they need to see that our shopping their promos does increase their bottom line, even when we use coupons (duh, we know that, but not all of them do). Hopefully, if things start to turn around, the atmosphere will start to relax a little.

OK, back to your regularly scheduled shopping!

Hot Button re: Albertsons NW ad: Nov. 11-17 *Highlights & matchups in the OP*

Went to Albies tonight just to look around for clearance items and tearpads.

On the deal in the paper "Buy 5 items and get a Trop 50 free" (Aunt Jemima and quaker items) Tearpads were posted by the oatmeal for "Buy 4 and get a Trop 50 O.J. free". Exp 12/3
    In database
    Tropicana Trop5, Any 59 Oz. Carton - 09-13-09 RP EXP 11/15

Also in the ad there is a sale on Rubbermaid lock it containers. "Buy on and get one free" There are coupons in 11/8/09 smart source for 1/1 on any Rubbermaid Easy Find Lids, Lock-Its, Produce Saver, or Premier Container or Set. I looked on the shelf and their were 3 sizes $4.00 and under and one for $4.29. So if you apply 2 1/1 coupons and two doublers on Sunday you will get two containers for free!

They also had Hefty one zip fresh extend on a bonus buy/clearance price for $1.67 There is a database coupon for Hefty One Zip Fresh Extend Bags, Any - 09-27-09 RP if you still have these you can double them for free!

Waaaah! I had so many good scenarios set up for doubles! I guess I won't be quite as busy shopping over the next few days as I thought. Thanks for breaking the bad news.
