Portland/Beaverton area:

Well did some calling around to my local Albertsons that I shop are here were the results

185th & West Union....last day to accept competitors coupons 3/17/09
Sw Scholls Ferry Rd....last day...3/31/09
6055 Sw 185th Ave (Aloha)...Already discontinued

Ackkk I was so hopeful it was a Washington thing....

All three stores said (when I asked why) that they would be doing
more of their own coupons and 2 of them said we should see the
doublers more often.

sniff sniff, a sad day (unless they do $1 doublers then I will
be happy again)

I was told yesterday at my Port Angeles, WA. Albies that on April 3rd they would no longer be accepting competitor coupons. The only thing that I am sad about is that I don't have a Fred Meyer close by and I was enjoying the 10 for $10 orange juice. My husband has to drive to Bremerton to work so I told him if he wants his orange juice, he'll have to stop at Fred Meyers over that way to get it. I just hope that the future ads are a lot better and that they will do more double coupons.

Troutdale Albies is no longer honoring competitor coupons, however I was allowed to use a SW DB tonight as the "last time". I always have trouble getting multiples of their ads in the store, so this doesn't look too promising. Now it will be only the reduced meat that brings me into their stores.:shrug7:

Thanks for the update as I was in that store couple a days ago and accepted my SW doubler without any mention of acceptance. Will have to check my other store and see what the status over there.

FYI - Fairwood and Pantherlake will no longer be accepting competitor coupons as of 3/18/09. (Verified)

I was told this morning that the westside Albertson's no longer accept competitor coupons as of 3/17. I was told they lost over a million dollars last year to those. The cashier was just as sad, told me she used to save $50-60 a week and now she'll have to rethink her strategy. I will too...I don't know if I will even bother much with Albertson's. I used to run there to get milk, bread, etc...and do my coupons while I was there. Now I think I'll just go to Winco because it's much cheaper. It doesn't pay to drive all over the town to get my deals. In the long run this may hurt them...we shall see.
