QUESTION Shelf Price vs Sale Price?

Sorry, not sure where to post my question but, I've read thru a few threads, of talk that deal sales work on shelf prices? Can someone explain to me what that means please? For example curious to know how would that work with the Albertson promotion going on spend $30 receive $15? Hope this makes sense.

    TIA

From everything that I know and have read, that sometimes works at stores like Jewel, but I've never heard of it working at any NW Albertsons store. It would be really cool if it did though.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong (I'd love to be wrong! LOL!)

From my experience, Albertsons "Save X when you spend Y" sales go by the sale price. Safeway has been known to get to their totals by using shelf prices, though (thought that usually seems to be unintended).
Workin' hard for the deals in a land of 'sometimes' doubles.
