HELP Can someone explain this to me?? I spent .51c...dont know why!!

Can anyone explain this to me????

So I went to the uscan, as usual, and scanned all of my items (had them qty the koolaid) I went to scan my first coupon, and it told me that I couldnt because of the line items (when you use the uscan, it has a limit of 999 lines. I had several hundred items, and each sale price requires 2 lines) It shut down on me. I BROKE THE MACHINE!!! So my FAVE manager comes up (I followed her from another store several years ago when albies closed some in the area) and she takes me to a register, and scans everything SUPER fast. She scans a few coupons, and the computer starts to do the same thing to her. I calculated the remaining coupons (97 free wyb kraft at 2.50each) and saw that I was going to have an overage. I went hmmm... She asked if it was a good hmm or a bad one. I told her neither. I told her it was giving me too much, and I didn't know why. I thought about it, and realized that I was planning on the sugar giving me overage, but not this much, so I told her that I only picked up 2 bags, there were no more. She told me the sugar discount was automatic, and gave it even though I hadn't bought them (I knew that but didn't want to tell her I'd planned on having the overage) So I had her add on the sugar I didn't get (I thought I was only due 15 packages, but it gave me credit for 20) so she started scanning them, and it stopped her at 8. Ok. But then it wouldn't let her do anything else, except have me pay. The total was 183.51
I paid w/my credit card, knowing she'd redeposit the money immediately.
But the remaining coupons still exceeded the amount I paid.
I gave her enough coupons to pay for the order, and had tons left over..

will someone help me!!!!

Here is what I bought tonight:
6) Nature Valley sweet & salty granola bars
2) Kraft mac & cheese singles
2) kens salad dressing
2) kens salad spritzers
1) albertsons margarine
1) best foods mayo
25) Baby basic travel wipes
1) bottle bubbles (.34c)
peaches (1lb)
70) oscar mayer hot dogs
14) wheat thins
9) planters peanuts
7) kraft dressing
300) koolaid
10) granulated sugar

I got...

20) 1.39 sugar discounts

and

50) $3 kraft discounts...
I thought I should have only gotten 25, and ended up not using a bunch of my free wyb kraft q's, because of it..

These are the q's she scanned the first part:

4) kens dressing coupons
1/1 nature valley
9) $3 planters

After I paid the 183.51, she went and scanned these coupons (total 183.00) and refunded my card the 183.00
65) hotdog q's (at 2.50ea)
25 q's for the wipes
2) 1/1 kraft easy mac

So I paid a total of .51c for it all...

I don't understand why I got twice as many discounts, and if it's a computer thing, I've gotta go get more!!!!!

TIA!!!

I believe that the reason that the computer locked up was because you had too much stuff. Someone else has reported the same problem, so next time break it up into more managable transactions (which will also get you more kool-aid cats).

I don't know why you got double the $3 savings. Anyone else have this problem (if you would call it that)?

I went tonight and instead of it giving me 4 $3 off for Kraft promo I recieved 6. Using the reciept I figured the reg prices of the kraft items and it was over $60 therefore the 6 where as I thought I would only had $38 worth of free wyb kraft items and was going to add on a honey bunches of oats to bring me up to $40 and decided not to as it took off 6 $3 already.

I paid .06 for
4 cheese singles
3 oscar mayer hd
3 wheat thins
3 crystal light
3 scott tp (only had .75 mq)
2 cases of arrowhead water
40 pks KA
1 canister of KA

The $3 cat did not print for the KA so the cashier gave me a RC to use on next order.

If you add up the kraft prices on the left hand side it will propably add up to where you can see why it took of extra $3 kraft promos. This is my guess based on my experiance tonight.

I am not complaining.

Great job on your order.

Because I can't seem to sleep tonight, I did the math.

Based on the online prices in the Portland area, your kraft items at regular price came to $501.90. This makes it look like Lorita's theory is correct.

That means I need to plan for a LOT more overage on my trip tomorrow.

Wow, think about this: If someone went in and bought those things at full retail, they would have paid 1,000 times what you did just for the kraft!!!

Shaws and Jewel Osco forums sometimes report their promos are based on regular prices. Their Kraft deal was a little different but apparently included South Beach Tide Me Over and South Beach Pizza. Anybody try any non-tagged items that worked? I'm wondering about the 2% or fat free Kraft singles and South Beach items.

I had this *problem* too. lol if you can call it that. I should've gotten 9 of the $3 discounts and I got 13 instead. I ended up going negative $6. I was going over the reciept and thought that maybe it was including the kool-aid, $1 boxes of mac and cheese and other kraft items in the "save $3 wyb $10" promo too, but that didn't add up either. The reg price makes more sense... awesome! Maybe I will do this one again

hmmmmm.....

I've got
kraft mac cheese 1.19 x2 (2.38)
wheat thins 3.79 x14 (53.06)
kraft dressing 3.49 (24.43)
planters 4.19 x 9 (37.71)
hotdogs 5.49 x70 (384.30)
total 501.88

WOW!! So we're getting 1 $3 discounts for every $10 BEFORE SALES PRICES??!!!!

So it's time to arm ourselves w/new scenarios!!!
I just wish that my free wyb kraft coupons didn't expire yesterday!!!

Thanks for figuring it out

Oh, and TheWoman, yes, it is because there were too many items. The computers can register 999 line items per transaction.
Each item is a line, the original price/sale discount is also a line. I purchased 547 items. Not bad for .51c!!!! I saved a grand total of $702.00 I think that's a personal best!!!

The 2% and Fat free Kraft Singles are not on sale so they would not be free after coupon. The fat free I know are $6.99 so you would end up paying $2.99 for the "free" cheese as the coupon is up to $4. Sorry :frown:

HTH

I tried it today. It did not give me the discounts based on regular price. On 2 of my 3 transactions I got extra discounts, but not as many as I would have if it were based on regular price. I have NO CLUE what happened.

Since I didn't get any extra discounts on my first 2 transactions, I didn't expect the overage and so I couldn't use my last 9 scotts coupons because I would have gone negative.
