Default Help! Need advice about coupon wording

Hello everyone, my husband's cousin has a situation in her Albertsons that we need some advice about. Her Albertsons in the Sumner area just implemented a coupon policy that the checkers read the backs of each coupon and if the coupon says, "one coupon per purchase", then they will only allow her to use 1 coupon for the whole transaction. If it says, "one coupon per item", then they will let her use multiple coupons. I suggested to her to either email or call corporate and ask about getting a copy of the coupon policy and when she called, the lady told her that should would look into it. They called her back and this is their response, "She feels that the manufacturer intends it to be one coupon per transaction but she will research it, talk to manufacturers, implement a policy that has never been put into writing and retrain my store." I suggested to her to just email them asking for a copy of their coupon policy. Is there anything else she can do? Is there anything out there in writing that explains what the wording on the backs of coupons actually mean? Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Thanks,

eabates

I don't shop at Albertsons. However, one per purchase definitely does not mean per transaction. Each item is a purchase within the entire transaction. Perhap's emailing a manufacturer that has this coupon wording and then show that email to either customer service or the manager.

You might want to email a few of the manufacturers, get their take on it, and take the emails into the store. That way you'll have something to back you up and maybe she'll take you seriously.

Also, it helps to actually bring in a coupon that says "one coupon per transaction" I know the Jack Links and Pedialyte state that. I usually tell them that if they meant it that way, they'd write it that way...

BTW, I did contact PG about it once, and they assured me purchase meant one item.

Try the line "I am purchasing 16 items" I read to use that line and I have started using it. I don't have the 1 per purchase/transaction confusion anymore.
Email the manufacturers. Most of the time they will refer it to the store, but maybe you will get lucky.
Check the stores website for a coupon policy. I would email and ask for a policy.

What a pain. I am understanding that she called corporate and they said *one coupon per entire transaction*? I hope this doesn't spread. My Albies (South Hill area) are very easy to coupon at. Send her over here :). If I were her I'd start breaking my entire order into single orders. Of course that doesn't help with Albies many buy x get something deals. I'd find another store. Then I'd let Albies know about it.
