QUESTION Anyone else having problems with the powerade coupon?

I have had to stand my ground with this coupon. In the paper the sale is get 15, pay for 10. With the coupon I should be able to get 15, pay for $5, right? They state that since I'm already getting 5 free I can't get another 5 free. I state that yes, the sale is the Albertsons sale, and I am using a manu coupon on top of that. There is no difference than any other Albertsons sale and then using a coupon on top of that. Anyone else having problems?

I have done this deal twice before using the hang tag B15G5F. Didn't have a problem either time.

Did it scan or did they have to manually do it? I first get "You already get 5 free" My response, "Yes I know and this is a coupon on top of the sale" I just don't get why it is any different than any other coupon on top of a sale

I think it's because a lot of cashiers don't think it's allowed to get things for free, seriously. My albertson's usually gives me TONS of problems with coupons so I went at night about an hour before closing when I figured they wouldn't be very busy. The cashier said there was no problem with the coupon but it kept beeping (not for her to entre the price but a beep that required an override). Luckily, this cashier was knowledgable and nice and the supervisor had given her her override key while she went on a smoke break. So the girl put the key in and when it beeped, she overrode it. She was talking to the bagger the whole time but did everything correctly then at the end, she was like woah, you ended up with most of that stuff for free, have a great night! This was probably the one time in the last couple months since I've started shopping there again that I didn't leave the store upset.

Maybe your store thought that because it beeped, it was automatically wrong instead of reading it to see that it wasn't.

Does your coupon say "valid only at Publix" on it? I don't think Albertsons will get reimbursed by the manufacturer if you use it there so maybe that is why it got rejected.

It beeped, but that was just so they could enter the total amount of the 5 free bottles.

The last time I tried to use one of these at Albertsons, it beeped and came up not valid or something like that. it was a coupon that I found in the store, she they just had to get an override key from a supervisor and they put it thru no problem.

Just wanted to update this post. I do have an e-mail from Albertsons that they take competitor coupons. I e-mailed corporate and the manager of the store called me. He apologized and said that yes, they should have accepted the coupon without probllems. And that he informed all of the cashiers. He said next time I come in I'd get 5 free powerades. Well the next time I went in I met Ben, the manager. I said that I didn't want to get more powerades since they did let me use the coupons and I didn't want to get something that I wasn't entitled to. He said, no, it was their fault they gave me a hard time and yes he wanted me to get 5 more. So I did. They impressed me!

I did not know that Albertsons takes competitor's coupons. Did they specify what stores they consider to be competitors (like is this just for traditional grocery stores or do they also take coupons from drugstores and discount stores)? TIA
