The lady at the customer service counter said she would fill it out but could not guarentee it. What are the chances of them refusing? Should I go to another store for a 2nd raincheck?

What's the point in getting a raincheck if they're not going to accept it at the store you got it from? Do they mean that getting stock in is not guarantee'd or the acceptance of the raincheck itself?
For Albertsons, a rain check is STORE specific meaning you can't use it at another Albertson's. The expire in 30 days. I have been able to take a rain check that is getting ready to expire and ask the manager to extend it for another month (if they never did restock for some reason). I have also asked management at the time I ask for the raincheck to write on the raincheck that a specific q will also be accepted regardless if it is expired. Just be upfront and logical and friendly. It is usually reciprocated!!

Did she mean that she couldn't guarantee that they would get the item back in stock? Sometimes the raincheck runs out before the stuff is expected in. Or if it is an item they don't regularly carry, then they may not get it in again. Since I don't know what the item was or the store's stock, I can't really say. I would call and ask for clarification.
You could also call another store and see if they have the item in stock there and if not, when they were expecting more in. You might find out that way if the itme was only a special order that way as well.
Thanks! I will call and talk to the manager. Maybe she is just not use to doing so many rainchecks and didn't know what to think about it.

In my area - Brandon FL - they either stamp or write on the store number. Before I knew better I tried to use one's at another and was told nuh uh, that is not our store number you have to use it at the store that issued. Maybe it is not the same in all areas, but that is my experience.
Re- reading the OP, I think you need to ask for the manager and just clarify the policy on accepting rain checks - ask if she meant that they might not be restocked in 30 days or did she mean that they could just willy nilly decide not to honor the rain check. I have a feeling the CS person was just flustered or perhaps not speaking the same language you were! :-)

By law in most states if a product is out of stock they have to either issue a raincheck or offer a substitute unless the sale flyer says that the sale is limited to stock on hand. And they also, have to honor the raincheck.
Also, I have used rainchecks from one Albertsons store location at another store location, no issues.

I am in Florida, and my stores accept RC's from other stores as well. I don't think that it is policy that these are store specific. I would speak to the store Manager about fulfilling your RC, most times they are cooperative.
