Not that I shop at Albie's all too often since there are 2 Publix's within 3 miles of Albie's but now Publix is buying 49 Albie's stores.

So now there'll be 3 Publix's within 3 miles or they're going to sell the one near me I guess - Parrish.

Well there should be 28 other stores not listed because there are 49 total being bought. From what I heard there's 4 in So. Fl. and 10 in No. Fl. but I can't find a list of those yet.

Blech, they are selling off the nice store in Dr Phillips,
Orlando and the only remaining store will be the worst one.

Well I know in St. Pete the Albertsons on 4th street is right across the street from Publix? Okay they bought it you won't have 2 Publix stores right across the street from each other? So what will that empty space turn into?

I like having both in the area...keeps them competitive....so does this means my grocery prices will go up unchecked?

I already have paid way more for groceries the years I have lived in FL than I ever did up north in Michigan. Florida has never been a cheap place for me to live!

Whew - mine in Winter Haven isn't on the list. It's the only Albie's anywhere near me - the closest one is the one up near John Young in Orlando. I do so like my 10/$10s.

Is that the bad store you were referring to, Cathy? The one right by Hunter's Creek?
I can't believe they bought the one on Dr. Phillips - the last thing Windemere needs is another Publix.

The remaining store is the one next to Olympia High School, I think it's Clarcona-Ocoee Rd. It's on the fringe of a nice area (Isleworth) but the store is not too great.

I can't see where there will be any left in Pinellas County, that includes St Pete, Clearwater, Largo, Pinellas Park, Palm Harbor, etc. I counted 14 from the list. I think they have gone down hill since they were sold and I really don't like them.
