I would go with the flow...there only but so much you can do. You can't fight with them about taking the coupons. Do your part by following rules and pay your total...everything else is up to them. |
I dont think anyone is jumping to any conclusions.
It is pretty obvious that something is wrong here.
Either the cashier is confused or the management really has implemented a new program BUT even if they have they are not going to get reimbursed for those coupons if they dont mail them in.
It is not going to help the GO green effort b/c manufacturers are still producing the coupons so it doesnt matter if they mail them in or not. Im sure (Id hope) the clearing houses recycle once they recieve them.
As far as only being able to do your part I think as seasoned couponers that includes questioning something that sounds fishy/wrong.
I dont agree with the you pay your total and the rest is up to them. If they tell me I can use a X coupon on a Y item that its not intended for I cant just say oh okay well thats up to you. Ethical couponing is still my responsibility.
As far as the OP Im sure she was shocked and just did what the cashier told her noone is saying she did anything wrong by doing that.
But what myself and pps are saying is it seems the cashier is wrong or possibly the store is doing something that needs explaining.
To the OP I think Id call the store and ask for the manager and explain the situation and see what they say.
