    BLUSH I was shocked...

My cashier said I only needed one coupon for my four like items as long as it goes through as it should!!!! I asked her if it would get her in trouble for not having all the coupons for all the items and she said no, she just needs the one. I guess maybe they are trying to cut down on their paper work??
Do you know what this means?? I gave her four coupons for the vitamin water and four coupons for the steamfresh and she handed me back 3 of each. Wow.

I wonder if this is even legal or if the cashier was wrong. Wouldn't that be coupon fraud? I'm just asking... :shrug7:

That doesnt seem legal I bet she is confused. They cant redeem them if they dont have them so that would be fraud. I would not do this if I were you Id insist she take them.

Funny to hear that...one coupon. At WAGS for their store coupons, I understand that, but MQ's NO!!

I had a new cashier at Target the other day and as she scanned my coupons...she threw them away!! I had to go to CS for something else, so I let them know, but they didn't seem concerned. Hmmm...???

Hey, let's not all jump to conclusion. There might be something different going on here that we just don't know about. I mean "Go Green" says it all. Maybe they are coming up with a way to keep everything computerized and we would be the last to know not the first. Also, sometimes the newer cashiers are the ones doing everything by the book because there knowledge is still fresh in there minds. IDK...That's just my opinion!!!

I would go with the flow...there only but so much you can do. You can't fight with them about taking the coupons. Do your part by following rules and pay your total...everything else is up to them.

I work for Albertsons and I can tell you that the cashier was incorrect.

This happened to me at WAGs a month or so ago. I was buying Dove shampoo, and the cashier tried to hand me 5 of the 6 coupons I gave him, saying he only needed one. I told him that he needed to use them all, and that he might be confusing WAG coupons with mfg coupons. He just shrugged and took them all.

I didn't feel right taking them back. First of all, he might get in trouble...and jobs are very hard to find around here. Secondly, I didn't want to be the customer that they point to and say, "that's the one...." when I walk in the door!

I dont think anyone is jumping to any conclusions.
It is pretty obvious that something is wrong here.
Either the cashier is confused or the management really has implemented a new program BUT even if they have they are not going to get reimbursed for those coupons if they dont mail them in.
It is not going to help the GO green effort b/c manufacturers are still producing the coupons so it doesnt matter if they mail them in or not. Im sure (Id hope) the clearing houses recycle once they recieve them.

As far as only being able to do your part I think as seasoned couponers that includes questioning something that sounds fishy/wrong.
I dont agree with the you pay your total and the rest is up to them. If they tell me I can use a X coupon on a Y item that its not intended for I cant just say oh okay well thats up to you. Ethical couponing is still my responsibility.

As far as the OP Im sure she was shocked and just did what the cashier told her noone is saying she did anything wrong by doing that.

But what myself and pps are saying is it seems the cashier is wrong or possibly the store is doing something that needs explaining.

To the OP I think Id call the store and ask for the manager and explain the situation and see what they say.

Wow, Seriously. No duh. I'm as ethical has it can be when it comes to using coupons. All I was saying is that you can't argue or stand in line for 30 mins handing each other the coupons back and forth. Yeah, they are doing something wrong and you can explain it to them as much as you can but My time is worth something and I don't think I'm getting paid the "managers" salary to be explaining things to cashiers in my time. So, like I said before "YES" something is wrong "BUT" I don't get paid for my time going shopping or explaining things to untrained cashiers (you can explain as much as you can but cashiers alway think there right). That's all I was saying!!! Hope you have a better day....:smile77:
