This was very Helpful Grandma Lewis. Thanks for putting this up for us.
Hi, Welcome to the Albertson's Forum.
I thought I'd make a thread for Albertson's 101. Please feel free to post any additional thoughts and I will incorporate them into the first post and give you credit.
1. Albertson's does not have a Rewards/Valued Customer/Loyalty card. The price you see is what you pay.
2. If an item rings up at the wrong price, you are supposed to get the item free, so check those receipts.
3. Often an item that is similar in size to one that is on sale will be put in the wrong place on the shelf, so watch your packaging sizes. Getting the wrong size will mess up your deals
4. BOGO Sales-There was a poll taken about Albertson's BOGO sales and with 32 responses, 90% of the voters thought Albertson's raised their prices for a BOGO sale. After tracking this for a while, I have determined that they don't necessarily raise the price of an item, but there certainly isn't any discounts for BOGO items. You will often find that you can save more when the item is on sale instead of with a BOGO deal.
5. The best prices at Albertson's are when they have Instant Rebate Deals when you buy XX or spend $XX you get $XX instantly rebated.
6. Albertson's will double/triple up to 4 like coupons. There is a separate thread about their coupon policy here http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums...on-policy.html
7. Albertson's meat prices can be a little high at times, but you can get good deals if you watch for them. I have a Albertson's Meat Price thread that you can check for the most recent meat prices. For a long time, most of my stores had boneless, skinless chicken breasts on sale the first week of the month. I would buy a month's worth that during that time.
8. Albertson's is sneaky about only putting certain varieties on sale. Be sure you are buying the varieties that are on sale. For instance, Lipton Sides; there are several varieties and it is possible for the chicken variety to be on sale but the beef varieties are not. You will over pay if you are not aware.
9. I don't know about all the Albertson's but my store will build big displays of the sale items near the front door and on the end caps. If you can't find the item on the shelf, look for the display or endcap. Don't forget the chilled cases in the middle of the dairy and meat section. Often the sale items are stocked there too.
10. Albertson's will give you a raincheck if they are out of stock but it's only good for 30 days.
11. There's not a lot of blinkies or tearpads at my store but frequently I will see neck tags, so scan the shelves as you walk the store.
Happy Shopping![]()

Thanks Grandma!
Also, it may be helpful to know they allow 2 coupons on BOGO sales, mine always has, and the second coupon will double/triple.

NOTE: Please check your store regarding double/triple Q's. As Grandma Lewis' coupon policy from corporate states, it is available in the Dallas/Ft. Worth division. I am in Lafayette, LA and although we are in the DFW region for Albertson's, our stores do not double/triple. :frown:
One time an ad for double/triple was in the ad online but not in the print ad so I was able to print it (my store location was shown on the side of the printout) and they honored it for me. So check out the online ads! You never know!![]()
Thanks Grandma Lewis for everything!![]()

Gone crazybe back later!
Also you should ASK about expired coupons. As a rule my store does not take them, but they have honored them when I found expired peelies and tearpads on display in their store.

Well, my only comment on Albertson's is, here in El Paso, is that they are very expensive compared to their competition. That being said they have put on some terrific sales in the last month which has saved us a bunch of money, either when we shopped there, which we had to for the sale, or we took the ad to Walmart when we did our regular shopping and got the sale price.
The closest Albertson's, for me, is in College Station, TX about 2 hours away. My neice lives there, so I would not mind going while visiting her, if they still do the big coupon event I have heard about where they will Triple up to $1.50 and double up to $3.00. Did I hear about this correctly, how often do they have this kind of special?
TIA

I am new to shopping at Albertsons so this was very helpful ,thank you .
Hi, I'm new to this sight, but not to couponing!! I was wondering: how do you know when to use the coupons to get the best deals, or for nearly free? And, how do you plan your meals with the coupons and weekly ads? All this is so overwhelming for me - don't know where to start?
