Hi, Welcome to the Albertson's Forum.
I thought I'd make a thread for Albertson's 101. Please feel free to post any additional thoughts and I will incorporate them into the first post and give you credit.
1. Albertson's does not have a Rewards/Valued Customer/Loyalty card. The price you see is what you pay.
2. If an item rings up at the wrong price, you are supposed to get the item free, so check those receipts.
3. Often an item that is similar in size to one that is on sale will be put in the wrong place on the shelf, so watch your packaging sizes. Getting the wrong size will mess up your deals
4. BOGO Sales-There was a poll taken about Albertson's BOGO sales and with 32 responses, 90% of the voters thought Albertson's raised their prices for a BOGO sale. After tracking this for a while, I have determined that they don't necessarily raise the price of an item, but there certainly isn't any discounts for BOGO items. You will often find that you can save more when the item is on sale instead of with a BOGO deal.
5. The best prices at Albertson's are when they have Instant Rebate Deals when you buy XX or spend $XX you get $XX instantly rebated.
6. Albertson's will double/triple up to 4 like coupons. There is a separate thread about their coupon policy here
http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums...on-policy.html
7. Albertson's meat prices can be a little high at times, but you can get good deals if you watch for them. I have a
Albertson's Meat Price thread that you can check for the most recent meat prices. For a long time, most of my stores had boneless, skinless chicken breasts on sale the first week of the month. I would buy a month's worth that during that time.
8. Albertson's is sneaky about only putting certain varieties on sale. Be sure you are buying the varieties that are on sale. For instance, Lipton Sides; there are several varieties and it is possible for the chicken variety to be on sale but the beef varieties are not. You will over pay if you are not aware.
9. I don't know about all the Albertson's but my store will build big displays of the sale items near the front door and on the end caps. If you can't find the item on the shelf, look for the display or endcap. Don't forget the chilled cases in the middle of the dairy and meat section. Often the sale items are stocked there too.
10. Albertson's will give you a raincheck if they are out of stock but it's only good for 30 days.
11. There's not a lot of blinkies or tearpads at my store but frequently I will see neck tags, so scan the shelves as you walk the store.
Happy Shopping
