Last year I thought I was getting a good deal on Smucker's Jelly during a BOGO sale at a regional store. Well to my surprise, after the BOGO sale ended, the regular price was lower than the BOGO price. I still saved a good bit, but the savings were not what I thought they were. With prices changing almost daily, what do you think, are the Albertson's BOGO sales true Bogo sales?

BTW, after some research, I have found that raising the price for a BOGO is against the FTC rules. You can read the guidelines here

This thread regarding BOGO has really opened my eyes to some things. I do think that you can get better sales without BOGO because they do change the prices later on, as you saw. That is why when I see a BOGO sale, I compare it to what I paid in the past and usually it isn't very good so I hold out.

well, the same thing happen to me with the B1G1F beef jerky. I thought I was getting a good deal and I got quite a few of them,so my son can take them to a tornament. I when to walmart to fill up the car I saw the beef jerky hang from a stand and I look pretty closely and find out that........... would be cheaper if I stop by walmart first!!!!!!!
I will be very coucious to buy anything in Albertsons again.....

Yes, that thread was a real eye opener. I saw it a few months ago, the graphics are terrific. I took the info from that thread and put it into my binder so I would always have with me. Thanks for pointing it out again.

Oh that's a real bummer. Was it the same brand? Walmart is cheaper on every day items, unless of course Albertson's has a sale or if you are using coupons.

I don't really pay attention to BOGO sales at Albie's unless I absolutely need something or I have $$/2 coupons, or actual BOGO coupons for those items. I usually avoid them during this sale because I find the prices higher than normal.

If Walmart doubled and tripled coupons I would be in heaven even though I hate the store.

Hi, This is on the subject of using 1 or 2 Q's per BOGO items @ Albie. On the present Albie Ad I got the BOGO Wholly Guacamole and clerk used 2 $1.00 off Q's.Maybe it depends on clerks, I don't know. And thank goodnes for their frozen veggies @ 2/ $1.00 10% off for frozen foods.
Anyhow this 'nuff for this time.

I have been saving every reciept for the last year because I like to send in for rebates. I have pulled those out to compare periodically prices, I was curious to see how much certain staples went up that my family always uses. That is when I caught the variations at Albertsons during BOGO periods. My Albertsons has started really crckaing down with rainchecks too. Only offered for items shown in flyer and only to be used within 30 day period. No blank ones, your name must be written on that too.

I'm wholly unimpressed with their BOGOs. Because their shelf price is outrageous on most everything, so much so, that getting two for the shelf price is not worth anything to me.
