I went and stocked up on cereal and pop tarts on Sunday and received a Catalina regarding a Kraft Rebate promotion that I believe starts on Friday the 7th (could be Sunday the 9th though). The deal was if you bought $25 worth of participating Kraft items (examples include Jello gelatin/pudding cups, DiGiorno Pizza, Crystal Light, Mac N Cheese, etc) that you would get a Catalina for $5 off your next shopping order and a mail in rebate for $20.

Free food!!!

I'm a newbie, so I'm not sure if this is the place to post about this, but I may have a heads-up on this deal. It seems some stores will not honor it until the 12th, even though websites are claiming the deal starts on the 7th.

I read about it online, mistakenly thinking today was the 7th. I went out & bought $25 worth of items (no coupons, as I'm new to this), and of course did not get the Catalina coupons. When I talked to the manager, she didn't know anything about the deal, but said if I brought her the information on it, she'd make sure to get me the coupons.

I realized my error regarding the date & ended up taking the stuff back (to a second location, as daily errands had taken me across town by this point) for a refund, telling them I'd come back & buy tomorrow. That's when a manager told me that I shouldn't waste my time coming back tomorrow, because this deal doesn't start until the 12th. Her assistant manager pointed out that I had a print-out that showed the 7th as the starting date, but of course the manager said they don't have to honor that, as it's, "just some junk off the internet."

They did refund me for my items, and I plan to go back on the 12th to re-purchase. But I'm sure they're going to have a few people complaining about this between the 7th & the 11th.

The 12th would make sense- that's the start of next week's ad. I was hoping for something good to with the rebate program. Now we just have to wait patiently (or as patiently as possible) to find out details on this one!

It's not so much a matter of stores not honoring it or not. It depends on when it's working through the catalina system. The cat advertisement I got says between 8/7 and 8/23. But even if the deal does start on the 7th, it might be worth waiting to see if the next Albie's ad has Kraft items on sale.

Will using coupons for this deal matter? I mean, will they still send the $20 rebate check no matter the total?

I did this deal tonight at mukilteo store...rang up total of $27.52, used coupons and 2 doublers for $$7.20 off, and although I held my breath, as I had asked cashier if was the deal was working there yet, and he did not know, after paying and waiting about 30 seconds, LOL, the $5 oyno printed, and so did the rebate form..whew..... I bought 2 jello puddings-4.19, using a found blinkie right beside them for 60cents off each, 4 deli creation sandwhiches at 3.29 each, and had 2- $1/2 coupons, and 2 -$1.00 doublers, and last 2 crackerfulls crackers at 2.99 each, with 2-$1/1 coupons. we both thought was not going to work, and just as the cashier said" do you want to talk to the manager abut it"...the cats rpinted, LOL. so...retail was $27.52, coupons took off $7.20, oop was $20.32, paid using my $15 oyno cats from the 30/15 deal I did earlier today, and rest in cash, got the $5 opyno cat, and the rebate to turn in for $20..pretty sweet deal!!!
