I didn't have the extra money when they offered it here in TX last year, I hope they offer it again, now that I do!

If they offered it last year in TX, I am sure they will offer it this year also. On the catalina it says "See Customer Service for Details". This is what I would do to find out if the offer is also available in TX.

One thing that's nice about this year's deal vs. last year's is that last years was based on cashing in your tax refund check at Albies & turning it into a gift card. If you had direct deposit, you were out of luck. This year, it specifically says anyone can just buy their card. That's a lot to lay out at one time, and our Albies don't have gas pumps. I'm not sure yet.

Some of the Albertsons must have given out very bad information last year. My friends and I had all direct deposits and we had no problems getting the gift cards. I actually bought a second one just before the deadline.

I know $300 is a lot of money, but 10% extra isn't bad. No bank will pay me 10% interest at this time. If I remember right the gift card does not have an expiration date.

There are some restrictions on this promotion and while I don't have all the details in front of me I do recall that the purchase of other gift cards is prohibited as well as things like tobacco, stamps etc...

I was telling my mom that very thing today. I said, "As long as you will spend that much in the next few months, there is probably not a better place to invest your money. Where else can you get 10% on your investment right now?"

I am going to go ahead and do this, I think its a pretty good deal and I know I will be able to use the Albertsons gift cards.

An added bonus of doing this is that you end up getting double gas points!!! I just went and got the $330, I paid $300, then got .30/gal credit. did my shopping trip, used the card, and gained another .10/gal. So this can work out really well! I also love that the gas discounts take into account before coupons, so I get lots of gas discounts. My DH is going to go fill up now, at 1.05/gal off.
