That is the same thing the CS rep at my Acme told me. She said something about it being a Kellogg's sale and not an Acme sale and that Kellogg's will reimburse them for the $10 only during the sale. So she couldn't give me a raincheck at $1.50 each.
When she gave me the explanation I could not find the logic in what she was saying. Even though it is a Kellogg's deal, it is Acme's responsibility to make sure that there is enough of that item for their customers. If there isn't than that's what rainchecks are for, to get an item at the sale price if they happen to run out.
In order to avoid a debate (because I had got one the day before for the cereal at $1.50 each with no problem).
I politely said ok, and came back the next day when the lady was not working and got 2 rainchecks (my husband was with me) for the cereal at $1.50 each.
Have any of you been able to buy 2 gallons of milk on one free milk cat? One of my stores has a big sign that says something like 'If you buy shoppers value milk (2/$4) you can get 6 free gallons of milk wyb 7 kelloggs cereals' i picked up 2 gallons of SV milk, used one cat and had no problems.
