Expired ACME brings back their Refund Rewards for 2010

Didn't see this posted yet so please forgive me if it's somewhere in a thread that I missed.

Remember last year when ACME offered a bonus on gift cards right around income tax time? Well, I heard on the radio that they were doing it again this year but I didn't see any advertisements in store or ads. I asked at the customer service desk when I was shopping today and they said that you can get them NOW!

If you buy a $250 GC, they will add another $20 to it. For a $300 GC, they will add a $30 bonus. I asked if I could get multiple GCs of lower values that add up to $300 but was told that it all has to go on a single card. But hey, I'm going to buy groceries anyway even if it will take me a month of shopping at ACME to spend that much so why not grab the bonus.

I hope this helps some one to stretch their budget just a little further.

I'm scared to do this, for fear of such a large gift card being lost. Someone from Jewel posted on CW about having hers stolen! I also heard talk that you may be able to buy smaller gift cards with the big one. I think it's a good deal for those who can spend the card fast though.

Got mine on Friday! I do worry about losing it but will just try to be careful with it. Killed my March grocery budget but April will look great! LOL :)

I did this last year and it was really worth it. I work at a school and do not draw a pay check over the summer. I bought 2 GCs and I was able to make it through to September. I was nervous about losing them, but I ended up writing the GC numbers down in case there was a problem. I suppose if someone stole your card and used it you'd be out of luck, but if you simply lost it - you'd be able to call with your card # to have it replaced.

I don't know about buying ACME GCs with the larger GC but I was able to purchase a GC for Home Depot from their gift card wall.
