QUESTION Is any other Acme doing this?

My store started last week with signs that state "No bulk purchases". Limit 10 per item.
OK - these signs are behind the CS and at each register. nothing is posted on the door...etc.
When I questioned being able to buy more than 10 cat food, yogurt, soup....etc "they didnt know"
Today when I went in to drop off a prescription, my fav cashier stopped me & told me they were now only allowing one catalina used per transaction.
And only one cat deal per card per day. If I were to take 1st purchase to my car & come in to repeat - I would be stopped.
I could on the other hand - bring my husband with me & we could each do the cat deal - as long as it was different Supercards.
The reason I was given was:
"The Russians are killing us! - they get the coupons online and buy stuff for their stores. There was a big meeting about it 'downtown' today and thats what we were told".
Has anyone else heard such nonsense? Pookie?

When that crazy cat deal was going on last august with the double dip my sister and I took a cruise over to PA, those stores must get hit hard because the cashiers and managers were rude, they didn't know us, never seen us before. They acted like we were stealing, I think we hit 3 stores that day, I don't remember what cities exactly, all I know is it was in the Morrisville/Langhorne area. During my sisters 2nd deal she was told to leave, I'm faster then her so I was already loading up on the Dove, Qtips and cereal for a 3rd round, then I was told to do that last order and leave. Another store had signs up at every register stating only 2 $5 cats can be used per order.
I can't see how you can get $42 in cats and can only spend $10, it's not right.

I used to hit this one Shoprite when there were really good deals, I'd go in and out a few times and no one ever said a thing. Then all the sudden someone came up to me when I was checking out and said I was already there that day and I couldn't shop. I was using my mom's card for some deal, I can't recall the deal right now, but my mom had been in there that day with my sister and they flagged the card and once it was scanned it alerted them in the office. Now we are talking going in there with 100's of coupons either, maybe doing 4 like coupons and doing 3 orders, so 12 of the same, per day maybe 3-4 times in a week. They acted like I was a criminal. My sister just went there the other day during the crazy kelloggs and lysol deals, she said there was a few Indian men in there filling carts and shopping like crazy doing multiple deals back to back. I don't know if these men were new to the store so weren't noticed by going to different cashiers, but I find it kind of reverse discrimination when they pick on a few white girls for getting 12 free toothpaste when 5 Indian men have 5 carts fulls of stuff and stacks of catalina's and they aren't stopped. I now shop at a different shoprite and I get dirty looks from the CS girls but it doesn't stop me, this store had many many coupon shoppers last week, there was this one lady with a cart over flowing with stuff, she threw in a $50 Shoprite giftcard and only paid $25 for everything.

I have been in the Chester Springs and Royersford Acme's this week and didn't notice any signs like that.

My neighbor was told they are working on changing the deals to sale price not shelf price. Now I already heard this has been an ongoing comment by emp for awhile. She was also told some ladies bought up all this cereal recently and was paying less than $1 for all the stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if they start putting out limits.

To be honest I think they should but at a reasonable number but only to make sure others have a fair chance to shop too. All this nonsense about Q fraud is really starting to tick me off. What b/c I am a good shopper I must be committing a crime somehow?

My store is not like that. They might limit you if they know you have a store but otherwise they appriciate the buisness.

Nothing at my store yet and kind of funny when you think of limituing by a store who runs 10 for $10 ads! LOL

but ours gets hit with "one Indian and one Mexican group"
who they have had a problem with shelf clearing so I wouldn't be surprised.
The one group does have a store in the area so I know management has stopped them during the most recent Scott PT deal a few months back.
The other group ( the Hellman's & Cereal group as they call them) had car & van with NY plates!

That's funny I have see/waited on the mayo/cereal snachers! And even funnier they don't use any coupons except cats. But they keep them babies rolling thought!

When there are really good cat deals (like the double dips in the past), one of the acmes near me put up signs at the shelves limiting purchases to 4 per customer. At the door there were also signs stating their right to limit quantities. I haven't seen any recently though.

Doesn't the 10/$10 ad say something like buy one, buy two, buy ten or more?
