So if I have a $10 Cat OYNO and use it for $12 of meat my total is $12 because there is no tax. BUT!!! in my store, and some others, the Catalina coupon has a tax amount built into it. I don't know why. Only one of my stores still has this. My $12 order shows a tax amount of -$1.95 because of the 'built in tax' or whatever it is. So my total becomes $10.05 for $12 of meat!
Perhaps someone else has further insight into the why. To know if your store is a 'tax blessing' store- look at the receipt after you pay with a OYNO Cat. If your tax amount is negative (on an order without taxables) it's a blessing store. Then you just need to do this math to figure out your tax blessing RATE:
negative tax amount/cat value= 'tax blessing' on the dollar. So for my store:
1.95/10.00=.195 on the dollar
This makes for interesting math on $30/15 because I stack it three times ($90/45) and to roll the $45 over and over would mean a $8.77 blessing! I sometimes pay with $40 to take 47.80 off (with a 2.80 filler) and accumulate the extra $5 cat. |
