Shelf prices

I'm somewhat new here, I read more then post. I am so confused about the whole shelf price thing vs sale price when it comes to Cat coupons.

I have 4 kids who are with me when I shop so I am nervous about making a mistake and needing to return a purchase. I was curious if anyone runs into issues with this, do you round off to be safe??
Just looking for some feedback so hopefully with the next deal I can get the nerve up to try an order with shelf proces instead of the sale prices!

Pencil, notepad, and a small calculator are must take items!!

Yes I agree. I keep a pencil,notepad and calculator in my coupon binder at all times. Also, I double check to make sure I'm buying correct size items and double check my math. I rarely have a problem with cats not printing and when I do it's usually because of the cat machine is out of paper or something so I just call catalina marketing and they mail them to me.
