I just left ACME empty handed

I lined up 4 orders, $5 instant did not come off on the first, I asked the clerk to get customer service (there was no one in line behind me)
Customer Service got the manager, manager (not my regular manager) says due to coupons I can not get the $5 instant ( I wasn't going negative or anything, I my register total was $6.06)

So I called corporate, first operator BARELY spoke English and said it was up to the store to offer the deals. I asked for a supervisor. The supervisor read all the fine print and said that I should have been able to use the coupons and get the $5 instant, and that someone would be contacting me within 24 hours.

So here I sit

A pile of coupons

AND NOTHING
Not even Kool Aid

Has anyone been able to do this in the Limerick PA area w/o a problem? Possibly the Trappe or Phoenixville stores?

Bummer! Do you ever feel like there is a target on your back when you are trying to do a legitimate deal? Can't you just feel the "love" from the cashier, the manager, and so on? Don't you love it when things go wrong, the manager's answer has most likely just been pulled out of his a**?

Actually they weren't nasty about it - just totally clueless

But the assistant manager has a target on her back now, cause I have called corporate, and I know the general manager is VERY customer service friendly

But somehow, I'm pretty sure you weren't really in it for the Kool Aid.

The Limerick store is the one I shop at all the time and I have never had a problem with their deals and my coupons.

I use the self-scan 99% of the time (mainly because I don't really like that taller older male cashier because he inspects each coupon like it is coming out of his paycheck and he always seems to be on when I go) and they do watch their screen while I am doing it. When the deal hasn't come off the supervisors have never given me a problem...then again, they know me with my coupon binder right in the cart and my 3 kids all begging them for stickers.

The store manager of that Acme is perhaps the nicest grocery store employee in the area (with the exception of Kevin The Seafood Guy at the Royersford Genuardi's). Just yesterday he promised me that they would order that Tava drink that there are so many $1.50 coupons for. I am sure that he will "make it right" for you.

I normally LOVE the Limerick store, the two managers I have dealt with before, both Jim, one bald, one older have been AWESOME!

But this female manager I dealt with yesterday was DUMB.

I do avoid that tall older malde cashier too, just cause I don't want to be there all day!

I was in the line with a young African American Male, he was very polite, he just didn't know anything about the deal.

I really really hope I get a call back soon from them, because I've got a ton of coupons and I don't want to have to use them at Giant across the street ( which I think I have entered once since ACME changed their coupon doubling)

I just heard back from the ACME manager

What they want to do is have me do the orders, they know it won't take off the $5, but they will go through Electronic Marketing (which I think is somehow associated with catalina) to get me $5 gift cards for each order, but I have to wait for the gift cards to come to the store, which will take about a week.

I know in their mind it is all the same, but for me it is money out of pocket now, and have to wait for the gift cards to come in, which I hate.

I am thinking I am going to do it - but only for the deals that are really awesome there right now - like the b1g1 hot dogs.

Your talking about the $5.00 instant Kraft savings right?? Mine came off yesterday in the Woodbury, NJ store. And I got the $5.00 Planters cat and $3.00 marshmello one . My cashier must have been impressed becouse she circled my $200.57 savings on my reciept.

Ok I have no idea what the deal you are talking about is, but I want to get in on it.

But just to let you know I am also a Limerick shopper and had a problem with Internet printables and they are looking into. My big problem is that when I 1st had a problem it was just me and my cashier and employees kept coming over and staring and hovering around the register. It was the only register open and people were staring at me, and I was so embarassed. I ended up emailing corp and the store manager Kim called me, left a GC for my trouble which was 10.00, and is talking more about my coupon issue.

I am going to have search this thread for this deal. I am heading there tonight!
