I was in Aceware today to buy Mr.clean autodry carwash so I picked up those colgate brush+ paste and soap also, I had the coupon for the paste and soap.. cashier just deduct the price form the sale price, example: irish soap was $1.49-.30(coupon) she entered $1.19...Is this the way they use the coupons? just wondering because it was first time I used the coupon there.

Mine won't let me use coupons IF the items are on sale. If they are not on sale I'm assuming you can use them. But, yes, YMMV because as the OP said they are all independently owned.
Oh, and just for the record...I don't think Ace gets many manf q's...my cashier had to ask the manager if they took coupons...
Well, not only did my ACE not have any of the items, when the sales associate said he could order them, the prices were higher than the rebate. What's up with that? Were they on sale in some areas?
