They also have that rare commodity, the free calendar, in the stores. It has coupons, including a December 2011 one ($5/$25 regular price Ace brand hand tools).
The one I went to still had plenty of the flashlights and knives left. BTW the flashlights come with the batteries already installed.
There was a sign about the Am Express Shop Small Saturday, something about a possible $25 bill credit so if you have an Am Express you might to check the details on that.
Does anyone know if the Home Improvement GC at Rite Aid works at Ace?

I have to tell you a little story about our local ACE.

It's locally Owned.

The owners are 80 year old and both have still been working there, although mostly you just saw Mr. Olsen, occasionally you saw Mrs. Olsen as well.

Mrs. Olsen had a stroke last week and past away on Tuesday. Whenever an employee at the store passes away the day of the funeral the store closes...so even though today is probably one of the busiest days of the year, they are closed today for the Mrs. Olsen's Funeral.


I'm not sure if Mr. Olsen will still be coming and working anymore, but it's such a shining example of local store/Mom and Pop business's that still are in the heart of America. Yesterday they let everyone use the 50% coupon at the store since they would be closed today.

But I do commend them for honoring their traditions and not giving into the almighty $.
