Ace Hardware ~ Question Coupons at Ace?

I went to Ace to get the free light bulbs a couple weeks ago, and my store told me that they don't take coupons. But it sounded like some other people on here were using them. Does anyone know if there if there is a store policy on coupons?

I tried using MQ's there a few years ago after I saw someone posted a great deal on Vanity Fair napkins (when we still used napkins)...

They were on sale and the manager refused to let me use my coupons on them because they were already on sale

Ya win some, ya lose some. I passed on them, obviously. lol.

I emailed Customer Service to find out what the current policy is. I'll update once I get a response.

When I first tried to use coupons, I was told by the store manager that ACE does not have a system in place to process coupons, therefore, none of the ACE stores accepts them.

I have one here that accepts them, but it's a HUGE YMMV. I think this particular ACE actually eats the cost themselves. They're in a good area & do a lot of business. No HD or Lowes has invaded their immediate neighborhood.

Well, here is the email response I received:

I would suggest that you contact your local Ace store by logging into Ace Hardware Stores | Browse for Hardware, Home Improvement, and Tools and find the store locator. I would then ask to speak to an owner/manager. Since they are independently owned and operated they may or may not honor manufacture coupons. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact the Ace Care Center.

So it does look like YMMV. Looks like I will call my local store and find out if they do. If anyone finds out that their store does/does not. Please post here and I will start a list.
