For boneless, skinless chicken breast $1.78 is only about 10 cents higher than even the best sales for the past few years.

Regular chicken breast (with bone and skin) is a good buy at about $1 a pound.

Best prices for leg quarters: 29 cents a pound, whole chickens 49 cents a pound (usually the sales are 49 & 79)

I was shocked to see packages of wing-drumettes for $1.77 a pound next to the breasts. Cracked me up, mostly bone for about the same price per pound. Chicken wings used to be the junk the folks would throw away, since there's almost no meat, now they've been repackaged to make hot wings. (My kids love hot wings, but we make hot legs instead with drumsticks, which I can get for 77 cents a pound.)
