Default Anyone Ever Returned a Product?

Aldi has always stated they have a "Double Guarantee" on all of their products. If you don't like it, it's bad, even if it is EMPTY it says to bring it back. I grew up on Aldi and hubby is slowly growing accustomed to some of their products...actually begged me to go back for more wheat bread since the price was good and he loved the taste.

But anyway, he had picked up a bottle of their honey bbq sauce a while back, saying it looked good. We used it as a dipping sauce for some chicken tenders and both didn't like it. So I put it in my car for my next trip to Aldi. I take it to the register when I'm checking out and tell the cashier that I'd like to return it, so she has the manager come over. She gives me this dirty look and asks for my receipt. I don't have it since we bought it months ago and after I check my debit card statement I dispose of my receipts. Who thinks to save a grocery receipt? She said she'd do it "one time" and took it as cash off my order. I was so angry I didn't know what to say so just did it...the cashier was nice, but not the manager.

So what, I'm supposed to save all of my Aldi receipts in case I don't like a product months from now?? Nothing on their guarantee or website says a receipt is required....and what about the double guarantee? Granted it was only 87 cents, but seriously. What sort of treatment is that? Should I write to corporate (I believe I saved the receipt I returned it on) just to say how rude she was and the receipt issue, loyal shopper, what about double, etc?
