Default Re: SALE: Red Balloon Sale, June 18th, give or take a day!

That will really depend on your store. Any well-managed store should have everything ready to go opening Tuesday, however my experience tells me there are plenty who won't.

The hard marks are all effective Monday and it's gonna take all stores a while to go through them (it's 28 pages of markdowns). If what you're after is selection, Monday night may be your best time. If you're after the sale bins, selection will be best in most stores Tuesday morning, though organization may be better by Tuesday night (Tues afternoon will undoubtedly have the worst of both, so for the first day anyway, I would stick to morning or night).

Two more things to keep in mind:

1) Replen shipments will be tiny this week, and there won't be any next week, so there's no real incentive to wait. Stores aren't expecting much more, so your best selection will be early (of course, the best deals will be late - I'll keep you posted).

2) If you go Monday night, the employees will have a ton and a half (no exageration) of work to do. They will be delighted to ring you up and provide the great service we always do, BUT if yours is a store where they're going to have to check in the back for you a lot or you start asking lots of questions, wanting to preview bins, and things like that then you will very likely earn the scowly-face. (Not saying it's right, just warning you it will happen.)
