Default Re: Register Rewards Talk--UPDATE

I also tried to buy a giftcard with my RR a week or two ago, and the cashier pointed out the "may not be used on giftcards" bit, which I didn't even notice because I have been using RR to buy gift cards since the beginning of RRs.

I have to say, I have never seen so much bickering on a single word on hcw.com before ever.

"may not be used" is as clear as day.

It does not say "may or may not be used". It clearly says "may not be used". May is an auxiliary verb that is used to express possibility. If you put the not after this verb, then possibility is gone.

Replace "may" with "can". "can not be used". It doesn't say "can or can not be used", "may or may not be used"...it says "MAY NOT BE USED".

So no, I will not write or call customer service for clarification on a verb usage that is quite clear.....even though it is clear it not the verb we all want to hear.

Sorry guys, I back y'all up on everything, but the "interpretations" of this one word.

Whatever happened to "low profile" around here anyway? "under the radar"?

The more we flood customer service with questions, the more they seem to take away from us. RRs used to roll. Ahh, the days. Didn't work for some, so some called to complain....and ruined it for the rest of us. Then RRs could be used for giftcards. Ah the good ol days. Some stores didn't allow it even though the RRs did not say they couldn't...and people called to complain and they all said "shooo...that's right! Let's exclude that too, what were we thinking?" Please, let's not complain about the rebates, or they will take those away too.

Then you MAY not have a reason to go back to Walgreens ever again.
