I agree. We have a 3 yr old Husky male.We have had him since he was a puppy. The original owners named him Trouble.Lets just say he has lived up to that name.lol We named him Max.
When he was a puppy we had him gated in the laundry room which is right off the kitchen. We could not get a high enough gate He would jump it all the time.He sleeps in his cage at night, which we have in the babies room right now.He has knocked down the front of his cage many times. He ripped the carpet in front of the bedroom door trying to get out.
When we first got him we had him on a leash out back.A neighbors cat came in our back yard one night and Max laid on the porch just as still as could be until the cat came close enough and then he took off after it breaking his chain.
We now have a chain linked fence in our back yard. Its about 7 ft tall.We had it divided so our kids could be on one side and the dogs on the other.Well he has dug under it where it is divided many times to get to the other side.He has also opened the gate on that side.
We also had to put bars all the way under and around the fence so he could not dig under it.He does dig in the yard but I think alot of dogs do..My lab does too.
And yes they tend to be harder to control then many other dogs..He listens when he wants to.We call for him to come and alot of times he wont listen. Its like the terrible twos in a child but it doesnt seem to stop.
With all that we would never give him up for anything. :)
