Where to start?? First of all be sure to have a complete handbook outlining all of your policies. Vacations, payments, hours, meals, schedules, meals, illness policy ect.... This is huge!
The licensincing process should get your home ready.
Join your local child care association. See if you have a child care resource and referral service, contact large employers letting them know you are opening.
Consider the federal food program, partial reiumbursement for meals you serve to children- same program as schools recieve.

I have been a dcp for 3 years and am still learning!
