Default Re: Any deals on moving???

We moved 600 miles and did it ourselves. I will say this. Clean out now!!!

Budget Truck ended up matching the u-haul price for the truck and discounting the trailer. They were easy to work with, but our equipment was late so we were given some additional discounts. If you can afford the moving company I'd go that route. We have a friend in OK who owns a moving co...they do it all. From pack up to move, or they will arrive and load what you've packed and unload you. It was super stressful for us doing it ourselves and I wouldn't go that way again to be honest with you. I would have been worth the extra $$ to have someone else do it.
You may look for local companies in the area you are moving to that have long distance services. After I got here I found a company that would have been cheaper than the quotes we were getting from our area. So look at both ends, then call the company you liked and tell them your best deal. We had to haggle but saved over $100 before we ran into the problems & got the extra discounts. Good luck! Hope it all goes smooth!!
