My guys are older, but I did use cloth. Back then (17 years ago) I used the pre folded diapers with rubber pants...They were just coming out the combo's and they weren't very good. How I did it was:
Used a liner, made tossing messes in the toilet easy
Tossed them in a lidded small can with a bag, and dumped it all in the washer at the end of each day. I used lysol laundry sanitizer and Dreft, and about once a week, I would gather all of them and bleach them, then rewash and extra rinse. I will say, disposables are better when traveling. I wasn't a huge couponer back then, so I reached a point of calculating washing everyday, extra detergent, sanitizer, extra bleach, time,etc...and found I did better with coupons/sales/disposables. I did the cloth because I was trying to be green, then I found out something like .02% of landfill waste was diapers. I was young, what did I know. That was my first glimpse into what I now know to be stockpiling. When I found diaper deals we got stocked up. I had some left over for the 2nd child to grow into of a couple sizes.
Congrat's and good luck BTW!!
