So My mom gets a invite in the mail today with hers, mine, and all my sisters names on it.
It is for the granddaughter of my moms friend--Id say she is my moms best friend just b/c my mom has like no friends not because they are ike super dooper close. She had a big family and her sisters were really the only people she was ever close with. But shes known this lady 20+ years and went to church together and once in a blue moon talk on the phone or visit. And she DID come to my shower last year.
The girl the shower is for also went to school with me a few years younger so I was sort of friends with her. And her DH worked at the same place as me.
So we know these people very well but are in no way close if that makes sense. I havent seen the girl in 10 years or better.

Sooooooo after all that here is the deal. This is the THIRD child for this couple. They have a girl and boy.
If we were invited to the 1st two showers I certinly dont recall.

My mom thinks its VERY WEIRD that they are having a shower for the 3rd one and you shouldnt do that yadda yadda

I say "Well I see what ya mean but maybe they figure ALL babies deserve to be welcomed into the world with a party"
But she goes on and on..

So..I also said that I did agree that most people dont have one and maybe its a lil tacky. That personally I wouldnt feel comfortable doing it unless several years went by and then I got pregnant with a different sex child so had no girl stuff and no longer had any baby stuff ect. Or was having multiples. Something like that then maybe.

I also feel like if *I* did it Id have a party to celebrate the baby with close friends and family and put like no need to bring a gift.
I dont think I would invite people I had not seen in 10 + years.

OKay that was long winded but Im jus curious to how others feel..

I am sending a gift but I have no desire to go to the shower so I will leave it with her grandma.
Mom says she will also that its not that she cares to buy for anyone she just thinks its tacky but she will still buy for the baby
