Default Re: Do you spay/neuter your pets?

We also spay/neuter :D We recently lost our fur baby of 14 yrs :( I just couldn't stand not having any little ones around, so we got 2 babies (each about 4 months old) from our local shelter. There you have to sign papers agreeing to spay them and have shots and any medical care they need, or else they will send the cops out to take them away and sue you for $400! We would have done all those things anyway, but just the threat led us to believe that some people wouldn't, kwim. The pissy thing is that the fee for getting them spayed was built in to the adoption cost, so there is absolutely no reason NOT to have it done! I guess some people are just irresponsible and/or lazy!
Our local Humane Society will also spay/neuter ferels for $10 and give them shots for like, $5 more. Everytime we get a stray that stays here long enough to catch, we find out when the next clinic is and take them to be fixed :D Just like Bugface said, way too many are put to sleep!
