Re: Do you spay/neuter your pets? Both our kitties are from shelters and we adopted them as babies and they are both fixed. One was already neutered, the other was too young. We had to put an extra refundable $50 up and sign something saying we would spay her when she was big enough (had to be 3 pounds and she was only 2.3 pounds) and we would get our money back.
I don't know if it is just an old wive's tale, but I have heard that if you don't neuter a male cat before he learns to spray, he will continue to spray even after fixing. So I definitely neutered all my males immediately. Too soon was not soon enough! lol! I just don't have the desire to find out if it is true.
For all you who take in abandoned/stray pets to get them fixed, I admire you. I don't know if I could do what you do. We don't have many strays in our neighborhood due to the coyotes. :( |
