Had you already used an q for Success rice with a tripler in the same order? I don't know if it is a chain-wide policy or just at my store, but I am not able to have two of the same $.50 q's doubled (or I guess tripled, either!). I lost a few dollars last week because I tried to use a bunch of those Del Monte fruit naturals q's to get the free fruit - ended up paying OOP when the only reason I was even getting them was because I thought they would be free! But only the first q on every order doubled. I asked at CS once I realized my totals were higher than I expected, and they confirmed that only one "like" coupon per order will double.

The only other thing I can think of is that it was a peelie. The fine print on the tripler says something about it being used only with q's cut from inserts. Not sure how the register would be able to tell something like that. Just a thought!
