Default Re: How much do you all pay for Sunday Papers?

I am a Chicago native. The Tribune is a steal at that price for a few reasons: you can pick up the double papers at Jewel or Dominick's on Saturday mornings for $.50 more. They also seal the inserts to prevent theft.

I am not sure if you scored on the deal. A few years ago, they offered cheap prices for home delivery plus 2 gift cards. This combination turned the paper into a pure profit situation.

The Chicago Tribune was $1.79 until they raised it this past week without nary a sign, announcement, ANYTHING! Not even a "new price" sign at the store. Now it's $1.99!! Thankfully I buy mine at the Dollar Tree for yes, $1. However, we also get it delivered and I pay only $1/week for the Sunday and three of the other days ($.75 @ newstand). That's for one year, not sure what I will pay after.

However, you have to watch where you buy it! You may not get all the ads as each community has a different pack inserted in them. For example, we bought one near MIL's house last week as we were on our way there, and no CVS paper because no store is near...
